We stayed for a week with our 2 young children, aged 3 and 11 months. We stayed in the 2 bed apartment on the top floor. There were 2 large bedrooms, a small lounge, small kitchen area, separate toilet and separate shower room which also had the washing machine in. There is a huge balcony with seats which offered views of the area and protection from the rain as it is covered!
The kitchen area has basic equipment and a small fridge. However you can use the main kitchen downstairs and we borrowed the microwave, blender etc when we needed to.

The family have 2 children, 1 son aged 10 who is an excellent English speaker (BJ) and a younger boy aged 2 who came regularly to play with our little girl (JB). The family are up early but as we have young children we were too so this did not disturb us. There is also a family cockerel - unfortunately he seems to think that dawn is 4:30am! The neighbourhood was generally quite quiet but one morning a neighbour did start singing karaoke early morning!

The house is next door to the family restaurant and you exit the property via the entrance of the restaurant. This is also where you have your breakfast. Lunch and evening meals can be provided, we ate in our first night and it was fine. The restaurant is frequented by locals and seems to be a popular spot. There were some nights that parties were being hosted and whilst these were quite noisy it didn't disturb us and we were able to sleep. The beds are quite hard a per the norm in Vietnam.

When we arrived we were originally shown a different room as the host family were anxious about our baby on the stairs (they are open as the apartment is part of the house rather than behind a separate door). However we explained we needed the 2 bedrooms and made a make shift baby gate out of some chairs. The host offered to buy a baby gate but we said that the make shift one we had made was fine. This was the start of the host family going above and beyond during our stay.

The family have bikes that you can borrow free of charge and they bought an additional child's seat to attach to one of the bikes because we had 2 children that needed a seat and they only had 1. When my bike was damaged in a car park it was immediately replaced with another bike. The bikes were essential to our family to get around as the homestay is a little bit out of town and they gave us the independence to get about.

Breakfast is provided each day, we were generally given something different each day and we did not know what we were getting until we sat down. The family have some female members of staff who cook the breakfast and are around the house and restaurant all day. They prepared a special rice soup for our 11 months old as he is allergic to eggs which he really enjoyed. Breakfast ranged from being excellent freshly prepared noodles with veg and meet, freshly prepared noodle soups to cold fried eggs. On some days we also received fresh fruit from the family which appeared in our apartment.
Whilst we were there the family had some laminated menus made which said that breakfast could either be fried eggs or noodles. I would recommend saying to them that you eat anything and see what you get. We had some great breakfasts that were outside of these options.

We were lucky enough to visit on vietnams woman's day so we're invited to a little party the staff were having. Even though they couldn't speak English they shared beer and food with us.

Lisa, the host was working at a hotel quite close by during our stay and invited us to use the facilities. We spent a day at the hotel using the swimming pool and having lunch which was fun.

Overall we had a great week, the hosts were clear that if we wanted or needed anything that we just needed to ask. They were accommodating of our family and even offered for their staff to babysit, clean or do our washing.

Room Tip: Go for the top floor apartment, the terrace is great.

We spend 2 nights and had a great time. Staff are friendly and warmy welcome us when we arrive. Room is clean with a big bancony, let's have a cup of tea when you wake up to enjoy the very peacful moment. The homestay is close to the center and special you can do your own BBQ dinner and the Chef will help you.
