While wandering around Hanoi on a shopping expedition, a friend, my sister and I came across Indigo Store. They have beautiful clothes and accessories, I bought an indigo dyed linen top which I still love. We also found that we could do an dyeing which is still a highlight of my trip, I loved learning about the dyes used, where they come from and the whole process. The staff are lovely and showed us such great hospitality. This place has heart.

Thank you for your great comment.
We are very grad to know you enjoyed shopping with us.
If you are interested in the culture of ethnic minority people, we also can manage the tours to the villages in northern Vietnam. There are so many attractions here in Vietnam. Why not plan visiting Vietnam again for your next holiday?!
Indigo Store, 33 Van Mieu, located opposite the Temple of Literature, was a delightful discovery. A Fair Trade outlet, here you will find a quality range of ethnic clothing and accessories in organic cotton, linen, silk and hemp, ranging from petite to western sizes. The staff are helpful and discreet, and everything on display is clearly (and reasonably), priced.
The owners, Thau, (Tiger), from Sapa, and her husband, Tokashi, from Japan, are passionate about supporting and conserving the traditional weaving, dyeing and embroidery skills of the north Vietnamese minorities. They will willingly share their vast knowledge, which I found fascinating, and answer your questions. Within the building above the retails floors you will find a happy and highly-skilled team of hearing disadvantaged staff who provide quality workmanship.
Also on display is a variety of jewellery, (including impressive local pearl necklaces and earrings), and a range of unique silver jewellery. Allow yourself about an hour to enjoy this treasure, in comparatively quiet surroundings.

Thank you for your great comment.

We hope we see you again soon!
My friend and I were attracted to this little store whilst walking along Van Mieu, opposite the Temple of Literature, by the vibrant colors and textures of the clothing and accessories displayed.
Upon entering we found every item's price clearly marked and we were not at all pressured by the sales staff. After showing interest in their products we were given a tour of the manufacturing area upstairs, and the process of weaving and dyeing was explained. This company supports many small communities in the countryside, buying their hand woven materials made from all organic cotton and hemp, dyed using natural dyes. We both purchased many items whilst our ever patient husbands sat on miniature plastic stools outside on the pavement. This is hassle free, interesting shopping, all natural and supports a good cause. Highly recommend it.

Thank you for your comment (and for also flower). We are very grad to know you enjoyed your shopping with us.

I have been visiting Vietnam for 13 years and have my own gift shop in the beautiful Blue Mountains of NSW Australia. I design and manufacture in Vietnam and on one of my trips wondering around looking for interesting products and ideas for my shop I came across Indigo Store and was immediately taken by the simple window display of beautiful indigo products and natural fibres. so i popped in and had a look around and started chatting with the assistant working there. I expressed my interest in buying items for my shop in Australia so next minute I was whisked away to their work shop and shown around. All the workers are deaf mute and I was instantly aware of the happy work environment. That was about 5 years ago and every year I come back and buy a range of clothes and gifts for my shop "OMNIA a little bit of everywhere". I have watched their passion for their heritage and handicrafts grow. If you are passionate about fabrics, good design and just a great experience contact the people at Indigo. they run dyeing courses and are happy to share any knowledge to enhance your experience.

Thank you for your great comment.
Our new season lines are full of indigo products. I hope you like them.
We are looking forward to see you soon again.
