This is place is worth the distance from Chiang Mai city if you are looking for a little exposure to culture. They gave us good information and hands on experience, picking, selecting, roasting and kneading the tea leaves. Topped with a teatime to try the finished product. Great for the family. Kids enjoy it!
Charlie and his team was excellent in explaining everything there is to know about tea. Staff is amazingly friendly and seem to enjoy and feel proud of their work. It was a very different and relaxed activity and got the chance to buy delicious tea. Congratulations to all of you and thank you for a wonderful experience!!
I had such a wonderful time visiting Araksa, especially due to the kindness, charm, and knowledge of both Charlie the guide and Nami the tea picker.
I was the only visitor and so it was quiet, calm, serene --- except for Charlie's contagious laughter!
I enjoyed learning about planting, watering, picking, roasting, and drinking tea on this beautiful farm.
Thank you so much!
Charlie was an awesome guide. Everyone was so friendly. It wasn't crowded and they care about showing you how the tea is made! It was one of my favorite experiences in Chiang Mai. Highly highly suggest it!
This is a fantastic experience! Not crowded at all! Two tours a day. My group consisted of five people.
Charlie was a fantastic guide. Excellent English, very informative about the plantation grounds, tribal people, and tea making process. He is also a very funny guy.
Tour started with a briefing session about tea plants, the different kinds, how they're grown, how to tend and pick them. You're given a basket and put to work. After you pick enough leaves you're taught about the roasting process.
Your reward for hard work is a tasting session of delicious hot and cold tea, and delightful rice snacks.
We stayed in down town Chang Mai and everyone we asked about this place knew nothing about it. We called the phone number on Trip Advisor and got redirected a few times until we where able to get someone who spoke English. The plantation is about a 1.5 hour drive from Chang Mai and it does show up on Google Maps but our cab driver still had a hard time finding it. All that being said, it is well worth the effort to get to this place for anyone who likes tea or is curious about how it is made. Charlie, the guide, is very friendly and gives great information about their plantation and the tea. We loved our experience and would recommend it to anyone.
