As you approach this temple sitting high above the city of Chiang Mai it certainly does not fail to impress.
A gold statue of Buddha stand towering high into the sky and as the sun shone down it was blinding at times.
The temple was close as we were a little early but, it also was beautiful I am still
amazed by the wood carvings from the doors to windows, statues and so much more.
I was always under the view that once you have seen one temple you sent them all.
Well I must confess I have been so wrong, not with the fact that each temple has its own history but, each temple has a beauty that is hard to describe.
As for wat Phra That Doi it certainly one to put on the list of must see.
The drive to the mountains base is through a lush jungle.
I would recommend to walk up the stair to the temple but, do be warn you need to be a little fit as there are many steps.
