They MRT was a great way to move around BKK. The traffic in BKK is terrible and the MRT is easy to navigate and very cheap. Once you learn your way around it is a great system to use.

long distance take long time short distance much better went to soi 65 and its very long way and change was in silom road .....
We used the MRT service a couple of times whilst on a short weekend break in Bangkok. The station was near our hotel and easily recognisable. Maps and signage was clear and it wasn’t too hard to figure out how to get tickets and where to go etc. The prices were very reasonable (approx 20 bhat / 50p for a single journey). The trains are clean, well maintained and air conditioned. Regular daytime services.
Shame there are not more stations in the tourist areas of the city as the MRT system is a quick, cheap and easy way of navigating around Bangkok.
We found the MRT to be fairly expensive as compared to our experiences of similar transport systems in other parts of the world. Also, the train frequency was not very frequent and the last trains (on weekdays) are scheduled at what we thought were not very late hours.
However, if you are traveling during the day and do not need to change lines, it will be an effective way to travel.
Very efficient rail network, good pricing...cars are nicely airconditioned and stations announced each stop.
only downfall is that if you need to change lines you need to go to siam to change..maybe that will be rectified one day.
Tip for travellers, if you are going to be on the train a bit then get a day pass for 140 Baht..no need to scramble for coins during the day.
should run more frequently for the size of the city - also no seating areas for old / tired / handicaped people
