It would be easy to miss this on your way out of the Grand Palace, but please don’t! Entrance is included with your ticket to the Grand Palace so worth an extra half hour if textiles and fashion interest you even slightly. There is only one exhibition on currently (September 2018), but it is a beautifully curated show of Queen Sirikit’s Balmain wardrobe from the 1960s. All items are very well labelled in Thai and English, and I honestly thought it was just as good as any high couture exhibitions I have been to back home in Australia.

In this museum you can see, among other things, HM Queen Sirikit’s personal collection of dresses designed and tailored from Thai textiles by international and local designers. Definitely worth a visit when you are in Bangkok. We, foreigners living in Bangkok, visited this museum twice and were very impressed every time!
The opening hours are: Daily, 9.00 am. - 4.30 pm. (Last possible entry 3.30 pm.) Entry fee is included in the Grand Palace fee. To visit the museum alone (without visiting the Grand Palace), fees are 150 Baht for adults, 80 Baht for senior citizens (over 65), 50 Baht for youth (12-18) and students with ID, and free for children under 12.

Awesome dress and gown designs. Materials used for the queen's clothes were the finest. Love the classic LV luggage used by Queen Sirikit during her travels. Hope there were more displays of her gowns and other items. the Museum is airconditioned, nice place to cool down after hours of exploring the diffrent buidlings inside The Grand Palace complex.

This is a really great way to end a tour of the temple and royal palace. It also has the bonus of clean & hygienic toilets plus airconditioning. Just what you need before leaving for your next destination.

The exhibition itself is extremely well presented and very informative. Be sure to read the explanatory text and information as this really is an interesting story to be told.
