When time is short, a private tour guide is a great option. I was fortunate to arrange a private customized tour with Tour with Tong. My guide was Lily and she was fantastic. In 11 hours, we visited the Train and Floating Markets, sampled local foods, played with leopard cubs, feed wild monkeys, saw the original bridge over the River Kwaii but my personal highlight was riding and bathing an elephant. Lily was able to provide details and stories for each of the sites visited but it never seemed rushed. She was able to take a number of pictures for me as I was a solo traveler. Our driver Prachak was always ready and took us to the next destination quickly and safely. All in all, this tour group was the best. I highly recommend it.

We booked 2 full day tours through Tour with Tong. Both tours were honestly the highlight of our trip to Thailand! Our first day was spent with our amazing guide named Ginnii! Ginnii took us on a full day Bangkok tour by private van. We visited the Grand Palace first which is absolutely stunning! The templates are beautiful and the history is amazing. Next stop was the Wat Pho where we saw the Reclining Buddha. Then we took a ferry across the Chao Phraya river to Wat Arun. We ate lunch at a cute local restaurant near Wat Arun which Ginnii recommended. After visiting Wat Arun and having lunch, our last stop was to a local temple. Overall, the first day tour was fantastic as we were able to see so many amazing sights around Bangkok. Our guide Ginnii was very professional and knowledgeable about all the sights and really added some great knowledge to our tour. Our second day was spent with another awesome guide named Lily. Lily took us to the floating markets in the morning and then to play with elephants in the afternoon. We were really happy to get up early and arrive early at the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market because this place gets really busy as the day goes on. The Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is incredible!! It’s an experience I wouldn’t miss while in Bangkok. As we traveled along the market, we stopped at many vendors and purchased some delicious food! After our time at the market, we then traveled 2 - 3 hours to a private piece of land that the tour company owns to play with elephants. The tour company helps take care of these elephants and looks after them on the beautiful piece of property. We prepaid for lunch and 3 hours with the elephants. Our experience with the elephants was a incredible!! We were able to ride the elephants, swim with them and feed them. It was the best experience and a dream come true! The elephants all have trainers and the trainers were very friendly and helpful. It was definitely an experience of a lifetime that I would highly recommend.

An early start and a lot of driving so glad the air conditioning worked. We did the floating market, (reviewed elsewhere) the elephant washing was a lifetime experience! We didn’t want to ride them but that is available as well.

We called in on a café on route to the bridge, again a proper taste of what the locals eat and it was delicious with the added bonus that the price wasn’t hugely inflated by middle men.

Finally we nipped to the bridge over the river Kwai which was disappointing the best bits being the museum and the cemetery (if a cemetery can be a best bit!)

How the driver lasted 12 hours I don’t know. Kris our guide was knowledgeable and an excellent English speaker so conversation ranged over many topics during the journey. Full marks to Tong and her staff for making a personal tour about as good as it can get.

Note take money for tips, these people (like the elephant handlers) don’t get a lot and rely on thank you for a reasonable life.

We had a wonderful day visiting the floating market and temples in Bangkok. Jerry met us in our hotel lobby right on time and had everything perfectly organized for the day, including having cold water waiting for us in the car. Jerry has so much knowledge of the sites, answered all of our questions, and enhanced our experience greatly. I am very happy that we decided to use a guide for the temples.

I had requested for a customised tour for my family. The elephant campsite and the floating market. Tong helped us book the tours and both the tours were well planned and on time. Initially it seems expensive but when you actually see the drive it’s pretty long for the elephant campsite and the floating market. Our guide kiwi was very knowledgeable and helped us shop as bit as well !

Overall a great trip !
