I highly recommend this short trip out of Pokhara to view the early morning sunrise! I have experienced it many times on my travels to the area and still look forward to my next opportunity! I recommend a taxi up and hike back....you will not be disappointed!

Had an amazing experience hiking to Sarangkot with my awesome mountain guide. We stayed at Dhampus the first night (which also has breathtaking views of the snow mountains.) He took me around the houses of different villagers (as he was on a mission to build a community school for the village!) and I got to eat local food at their homes, talk to the friendly people in the village and even witness the celebration of the Shiva festival! We got too tired after hiking from Dhampus to the temple and my mountain guide offered to give me a ride on his motorbike to Sarangkot (without any additional charges!) The experience of travelling on a bike and just watching the magnificence of the snow mountains pass you by is something that I will never forget. If you are ever in Pokhara and in need of a mountain guide, Amore is the guy you want to look for. You can look him up on facebook by the username of Amore KC. Good luck!

Climbing up to Sarangkot is a good training before a trek! The landscape around is visible as much as the Annapurnas when the sky is open (which seldom happens in this season); when it's good weather, you are just stuck!

Worth the 4.30 am rise (if the days not cloudy) to get the superb view of the sun rising on these magnificent peaks. Terrific photo opportunity. Don't miss it.

Pokhara offers a lot for the tourists. one of them is Sarangkot, it's an early morning activity. Hire a car, reach there before sunrise and witness amazing sunrise and annapurna range.
