We just recently spent a week at Dream Valley Resort. We chose it because of its proximity to Tikal, Guatemala and did not want to stay in San Ignacio. Dream Valley was a quiet, restful place and we enjoyed the beautiful grounds and views of the river, including a complimentary use of a canoe to enjoy a river excursion.
The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Annie and Lucy at the office were extremely nice. Edwin safely toured us around. Chef Alex catered to us and made some amazing dishes.
The two pools near the hotel office were not the best, but a short walk to another section on the grounds led to a great little pool with beautiful jungle views.
The only downsides for us was the intermittent WiFi and the uncomfortable mattress.
Although this resort is fairly isolated with a very bumpy road of the main highway, we felt well taken care of by staff and enjoyed our time there.
I must admit, when I heard about the place I was intrigued by its name and its location. It’s at a perfect location for me and my family being we needed some time to interact with each other. Upon arrival we were greeted with complimentary drinks and snacks for my kids, the staff were very courteous and attend to our every desire despite my spoilt and bratty kids. If you plan to dine, I must recommend their fettuccine Alfredo, it’s the nicest I’ve tasted so far, even nicer than my wife’s one! Thank Ms. Luci
