Paradise Bay Resort is sadly neither a Resort nor a Paradise, though it is located near a Bay. This run down motel is perched on a steep sidehill overlooking a shallow muddy lagoon that leads to a shallow muddy Bay. No one is ever seen swimming in either the mangrove lagoon or the bay. Nothing here is “complimentary” as you pay an additional daily “Resort” fee of $47. The breakfast, was far from a breakfast. The kayaks & SUPs were in rough condition, one SUP was half full of water and had broken fins, so near impossible to paddle. There is no restaurant, no room service, no bar, no nearby restaurants. The only activity is an overpriced boat ride to snorkle a murky reef and walk on a sand bar for $80 per person. One day we left our room to find the entire building of rooms beside the lobby covered in a fumigation tent … no mention of it by the hotel, no note in our room. Just the front desk staff wearing masks . Bizarre.

Room Tip: Overpriced and overrated for the value.

Aloha & thank you for your detailed review. We are sorry to hear that Paradise Bay Resort was not to your liking. We take pride in the upkeep of the property, and often receive rave reviews of the ocean equipment, swimming pool, grills to include the banana bread. Though we do not have a restaurant on site, there are many great eateries nearby, we hope that you were able to enjoy yourself as you made your way around the island. Unfortunately, it’s flu season, and with the many viruses going around, the staff are taking precautionary measures in remaining healthy so that they are available to welcome and greet our valued guests.
Again, Mahalo for sharing your feedback with us and should you have an opportunity to return, we hope that you will be able to enjoy the beauty of what Paradise Bay Resorts has to offer.

Mahalo!

Wonderful location away from the touristy Waikiki area exactly what we were expecting to connect with nature and relax. Friendly and attentive staff, especially Pua who welcomed us like ‘ohana and made sure we had what we needed, Uncle Danny weeknight ukulele playing and talk story added to the feeling like we were home, kayak/snorkel equipment rentals included in the stay was so convenient- we paddled with sea turtles on Christmas Day and it was magic, enjoyed the hot tub soak after a day of sightseeing and visiting family, and enjoyed coffee each morning while looking out over the water

Room tip: Take out the kayaks and paddle with sea turtles and mind their space. Incredible. Enjoy the sounds of the tropical song birds

Aloha & thank you for sharing such a heartwarming review! We're delighted you found our location the perfect place to relax and connect with nature. Pua and Uncle Danny will be thrilled to hear they made your stay feel like ‘ohana—it’s what we strive for. Paddling with sea turtles on Christmas Day sounds like a truly magical memory! We’re so glad you enjoyed the hot tub, the convenience of our equipment rentals, and peaceful mornings by the water. We’d love to welcome you back for more special moments in Paradise. Mahalo!

This is an amazing place! Off the beaten path, but not far from amenities. Meticulous attention to detail and warm hospitality. Nightly ukulele, kayaks available, and coffee and banana bread in the morning. A lovely, quiet and beautiful place that exceeded our expectations. We will happily return!

Room tip: The rooms are small-ish, but there is ample outside terrace space. There are fees, parking and resort fee, to consider for accurate pricing.

Aloha Margalo F.,

Thank you for your review and choosing to stay with us! We're glad to hear you had a great experience, especially listening to the sounds of Uncle Danny. The new upgraded vegan banana bread is a huge hit and very tasty.
We hope to welcome you back to paradise soon and wish you and your ohana a very happy and safe holiday season

We were in Oahu for 2 days on our way to New Zealand, and we wanted a simple place to stay while we went to Pearl Harbor and enjoyed a few other sites of the island. My travel agent suggested this place, and it was perfect for us. It just has an old Hawaii vibe, simple and laid-back. It's not a fancy resort, but it is comfortable and clean. The rooms are a bit old-fashioned, but they are nice and clean, and the beds are comfortable. Michael at the front desk is charming and informative and made sure we had everything we needed. I'm sorry to leave, but if we ever come back to Oahu, I will consider Paradise Bay.

All that said, I do have two concerns that I wish the management would address. Although the bathroom is large and clean, the tub is old-fashioned with an extremely slippery bottom. The shower head is outdated as well. It's clean, but I believe that it's an accident waiting to happen with that slippery tub.

Another concern of mine is the stairway to the laundry room. I love that they had self laundry facilities, but to get there you had to go down a set of stairs. There were motion lights to light your way, however they stayed on for a total of 5 seconds, plunging you in the dark with arms full of laundry flailing to hold on! I think this defeats the purpose of motion lights! They need to stay on for at least 30 seconds, preferably one minute. In my opinion that's another accident waiting to happen.

But those two issues are things that are easily fixed, and it would not keep me from recommending this lovely little hotel.

Aloha & thank you so much for the 5-star review!

We’re thrilled to hear you had such a fantastic stay with us. Your kind words about Michael truly mean a lot to us, and we will be sharing this with him. He is truly a gem to Paradise Bay Resort.

Also wanted to share a sincere Mahalo for sharing your comments about the extremely slippery bottom, shower head and the sensor light issue. We will be looking into the sensor light immediately and hoping to address the slippery shower and shower head, but unfortunately unsure of which room this may be. We would sincerely appreciate it if you could please email us at info@paradisebayresort.com with the room number, so that this may be addressed.

We are extremely grateful to hear that your travel agent recommended Paradise Bay Resort and would appreciate it if you could please extend our sincere gratitude.

We look forward to welcoming your back to the only Paradise on the island. Safe travels and see you soon.

We stayed here for a full week. Place and staff were great especially Pua, Micheal and the housekeeper who stayed a little longer just so she could sweep the sand from our room (unfortunately I wasn’t able to get her name). Pua and Michael worked the front desk and they are very welcoming and not to mention the place is very clean and beautifully landscaped. I would definitely stay here again and would also recommend it.
