Of course the river itself is wonderful if you add a bit of history and the bike trails and walking paths it's a wonderful afternoon.

Saw the Potomac from Georgetown Waterfront Park. Small little River where kayakers, paddle boarders, and boaters alike enjoyed the water. Definitely a nice relaxing alternative to DC and surrounding cities. I would recommend kayaking in the River for a nice adventure and some mind-clearing after all the history and museums.

Went to canoing with my son and his girlfriend and love the scenic views that overlooked the river. It was a bit dirty but knew not to jump in! look of the Kennedy center and the Jefferson memorial...nothing like it!

The river is very relaxing. It compliments the city very well. There is so much to do along the river.

We drove over the Potomac several times during our 3 days near Washington DC. Earlier in the week, we were at Harper's Ferry and saw where it meets the Shenandoah River. I'm kind of fascinated with rivers & bridges so enjoyed it all.
