“Vegan surprise”

Timbuktu Nomadic Deli
Price range: US$1 - US$10
Description: Our business is a takeaway food outlet with a focus on cabinet food rather than made to order dishes. We have a core component of regular dishes on offer as we recognise the need for our customers to have familiarity but at the same time as the opportunity to try new culinary experiences. In addition to our daily dishes which showcase a spectrum of the most popular street food from around the globe, we also have the ongoing fortnightly "destination location" During each showcase period we explore the local foods from that location.

The service at Timbuktu was warm and friendly.
The VEGAN food was excellent!!!!
We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of choice of vegan food, not half expecting to find vegan food at all.
The added bonus of the food being absolutely delicious was an extra extra bonus!!

Lovely Arab/West African styled cafe in the centre of Waiheke. One of the few places to eat I've found anywhere in the country with a good selection of veggie/vegan food; my Tarka Daal was excellent!

I have been to Timbuktu plenty of times and always like going back to it. Willow Rowntree creates with her team the most delicious vegan meals and treats that are very hard to resist. She also offers plenty of options for the vegetarian and even the meat eaters heart. She serves options from different cultures that can be accompanied by a smooth cup of coffee or one of her extra ordinary fizzy drinks. And if you're not hungry you can always get something to take away or choose from her variety of imported foods that you can try out in your own cooking at home. Altogether it's a great place to have a little rest from your trip around the island and send your taste buds if wanted on an exotic journey instead.
