This place has a great reputation and for good reason. It was busy and full when we arrived and the wait was 10 minutes, which is not bad at all for a fish and chip shop. The server was very patient, considering he probably gets the same questions over and over again.
The fish (blue cod) was very fresh and fell apart readily, showing the freshness.
The price was higher than normal but you get what you pay for and it was worth it.
Sitting on the bench watching the view was worth it as well. Thanks

What an awesome place to have a taste of New Zealand’s fish and chips, just across a view of the sea. The place is swamped with visitors hungry after touring the area, or just to relax. Service is fast despite the number of people that come in. Fish is fresh and chips are crunchy!

It was one of the few places were you could get grilled fish instead of the usual battered variety.
It was yummi, perfectly seasoned and the kumara chips were very good too.

Lots of choices in what type of fish and how you want it cooked. We chose battered fish and it was amazing. Lots of tables out the front to sit and enjoy the view whilst you eat. If you are lucky a friendly neighbourhood cat will come and join you. Loved it.
