Boutique Hotel with Good Central Location

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 17 Apr 2024via mobile
The hotel's central location in the northeast end of Riga's old town made it very easy to explore the city. We were close to the city's main attractions and were within a 5 minute walk to the Cat House, Freedom Monument, Riga/Dome Cathedral, and St. Peter's Cathedral.

We booked the room without a window. It was very nicely decorated and the bed was really comfortable. The room was quiet but a bit stuffy and we felt the AC wasn't strong enough. We felt there was still good value with this room though because of the price and there was a lot packed into it. There was a Nespresso coffee machine, tea station, cute tea cups and a large bathroom with a very nice shower. We appreciated that a wall adapter was provided and plugged in that worked with North American style plugs.

The hotel is in a building from the 17th century and has a very nice looking mirrored atrium. There is a fun story where a horse threw a shoe, hit this building and stuck so the owner kept it because he felt it was good luck. The hotel has a bar in the lobby as well as a small shop.

The highlight of this hotel was the breakfast which had a great view of the city from the window and a very good breakfast. The breakfast had a small buffet with cheese, smoked fish, fresh bread and some other nice choices. We enjoyed the variety of drinks like the rhubarb lemonade and hot chocolate. You can order one hot item which included.

The hotel is 30 minutes from the airport and there is a bus stop nearby but Bolt is inexpensive in Riga and we got to/from the airport for 10 euros. Parking nearby is limited and you'd have to go with a private lot which could be a 5-7 minute walk away if you have a car.

The hotel is centrally located on a beautiful square. It's car free. The staff members were very friendly and helpfull and did everything they could to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The hotel is clean. And the hotel has a luxurious, romantic atmosphere. If you have a room on the inside, it is super quiet. But the room on the 6th floor (inside) was very warm. 26 degrees and we could not make it cooler (airco could not maken it cooler). That was a pity otherwise it was perfect. All in all, highly recommended, this hotel.

A very warm and welcoming beautiful hotel with exceptional breakfast! I really loved the potato blinis that I ordered for breakfast every day. They even had sparkling wine for breakfast - it gave a luxurious start every day! The hotel was also very helpful with recommendations. We asked about restaurants and they recommended one - Riviera. It was a wonderful recommendation.

Wondeful boutique hotel in the heart of the old town. The location is great and all the staff (except one) were fantastic. The waitress in the breakfast room was exceptionally good, anticipating our needs and treating customers as individuals.

The breakfast was great with hot dishes cooked to order, which were well presented. Good selection of food and I loved the freshly squeezed orange juice.

The rooms were well decorated and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was excellent - spotlessly clean. The shower was very good.

However, the temperature in the rooms is unbearable. There is a/c but it makes the room warmer as it dishes out warm air. There are no windows in most of the rooms which wouldn't have been an issue if it was possible to adjust the room temperature. There was no way to cool the rooms down. We got headaches as a result. With the rooms so hot you notice even more how old it is outside.

I hope they sort out the temperature as it's the only negative in an otherwise great hotel.

It's a very nice new hotel with French charm, a perfect location, but no parking space. Super breakfast and view from 6 floors.
Just very hot in the room and we couldn't set the temperature lower. No windows for fresh air.
