The most unique lunch I have had!

After buying from the menu, the zoo cafe staff rotate animals onto your table for you to handle and see. These animals included reptiles, Guinea pigs, rabbits, and tortoise!

Plenty of photo opportunities and amazing to see up close these animals, which seemed to be in good care.

I wish they had places like this everywhere you go! Such an amazing experience, prices are reasonable and the time you have in there is not enough, I could stay there forever!! I arrived at 10am and it was fully booked, to make sure you’re not turned away at the door email/call before your visit to make a reservation. Looking at the other reviews they rotate the animals so it’s not the same every time you visit. Service was great, everyone working was friendly and approachable. The last 10 minutes you can walk around and see the other animals in the enclosures. Highly recommend!!

Terrible service, the waiters were really rude. They showed us only 3 animals and they didnt even let us walk around from the rooms to see the animals that are in the walls. The prices are too high and the drinks are not good at all.

My boyfriend and I visited at the end of June and had a great time at the zoo cafe after see lots of positive reviews both on here and on tiktok. We got to see and hold 6 animals (tortoise, chameleon, rabbit, snake, lizard and guinea pig). Some of the animals you can hold in your hand, whereas others had to remain on the table but could still be stroked. You get around 10 minutes with each animal and then they are swapped round. Prior to meeting the animals you have a chance to order light lunch/snacks and drink. We paid about £20 for 2 slices of cake and 2 fizzy drinks (which included a 16.5% service charge). We felt this was good value for money as there is no entrance fee. You get allocated 1.5hrs which is a good amount of time. Definitely recommend booking in advance as can be very popular! If you want to have a good experience make sure to respect all the rules which are listed on arrival.

This was the second time I took my 2 kids to this establishment. First time was pre-covid and it was a really good experience. Then I went yesterday (28 June 2024) with my kids and it was so disappointing. Firstly there was a mix up with the booking, my husband booked it for 3 but when I got there I was told very rudely that it was booked for 2. The person who was at the door was argumentative and extremely rude and I thought we would not be accommodated. Amazingly they added a chair to the square table we sat at, wow what a revelation that adding an extra chair could solve the problem. The food quality was like something you could pick up at a gas station shop (sandwiches and nachos) my son’s vanilla milk shake was somehow room temperature. We got to see 5 animals and comparing to the first time we were there it was definitely less. Lastly, at the end of the session (bookings are done in time slots) we could walk around for 15-20 mins to look at the animals around the restaurant. While doing so the waiters are bustling around cleaning for the next bunch of customers, which makes you feel like you are in the way. The only things that was positive was that my kids enjoyed the animals and the animal handler was pleasant and attentive. For me it was unimpressive and I will not be visiting again, neither would I recommend this place to anyone. I really think they should rethink their concept and attitude towards their visitors.
