We would've rated this with 5 stars if it wasn't for the price which is almost twice the "standard" price for an escape game in Budapest.
First off, the game master was nice.
Secondly, the storyline was refreshing and few of the puzzles were really original.
We would recommend this for families.
To sum it up, a beautiful escape game but a tiny tad overpriced.

We went to Budapest to try some of the city's escape games and it didn't disappoint. This one had such good theming and it's going to be hard to explain without spoilers but I loved how the room started, the in-story hint system and my favourite moment in an escape game when we progressed to the cave.
The puzzles were a lot of fun, and the atmosphere was great - there was creative use of lights and sound and touch (& smell?).

One of the best we have ever did and we did many. The puzzles are not very hard, but all the place is like a scene in a movie. Very good

We visited the room in August 2016 and we still talk about it! We didn't leave a review then, so I might as well do it now. :-) The Pirate Cave has been to this day one of the coolest escape rooms that we've ever escaped from (and the count is now close to 30, so we've been to quite a few), not only in Budapest but in general. The room is very authentic and 'real', with great props and a proper pirate feel to it; the puzzles are a lot of fun and the game develops really well. We were received by a very friendly gamemaster and loved our time there - it is located a bit outside of the center, but it is so worth the trip; do not miss it!

We were two persons me and my wife with an average experience, however, this room was the best for us!
First of all, we felt most of the things are different than other rooms; lockers, getting help, concept, theme etc..
The story was great and the puzzles as well. When you are inside, you will feel it as real story.
The location was a little bit weird for us, in an industrial area, but don't think twice and just give it a try (easy to get there by metro).
Now Kate the room master is awesome person:) her welcome was lovely and explained everything for us.
Highly recommended!
