Jurma apartment is located on a side street just opposite the side of the Opera.Less than 10 minutes’ walk to the Deák tér central where most Metro line meet. The main tourist office is just by the metro station. At Deák téryou will find all shops, cafes restaurants etc.
There is a metro next to the opera as well. There are some grocery shops not far away from the flat. One is on the main street if you take left towards the opera and walk about 200-300 meters passed it to the next big junction.. Excellent products all you will need for your stay at the apartment modest prices, something’s cheaper than in the city market.
As for the flat:
The pictures you see on the Booking.com site are extremely well mastered. The reality though is not as picturesque .DO NOT GET ME WRONG. The place is great! Spotless clean and tidy .Fast Broad band 4Mb/1Mb , flat panel TV (32 inch ).All some 60 channels in Hungarian bar SKY news and BBC entertainment. Bring your HDMI cable if you wish to watch TV from you Laptop/Tablet etc.
Two huge bedrooms+ a big living room. Comfortable beds. Fitted small kitchen with basic necessities. Fridge but no freezer. Microwave advertised but was not present. Small bathroom with a shower (be sure to fix the curtain so the floor will not get wet, as the shower head does not fit the fitting on the wall). There is a washing machine in the bathroom as well.(No dryer). You will need to switch on the red button on the wall to get the gas boiler started. That will give you warm water and heating.
Be sure to verify with the owner if she has placed towels in the flat. She says she gives one big and one small per person .Not much if you are here for a longer stay.
As for bed linen: they are also minimal. No covers/duvets for extra blankets and cushions.
The fitted sheets do not cover the entire matrass.
There is another sofa in the main living room that converts also to a bed.A baby bed and chair available.
The flat is on the third floor. An elevator is present but it will fit one person with a suitcase or two people with trolleys.
To sum up: This is a great place to stay in Budapest, as it is walking distance from the city centre/transportation facilities. It takes about 20-30 minutes to walk (Slowly) from the flat to the Danube. You can hear some noises from the main street, but if you live in a city then you are used to it.I do not live in the city and it did not bother us at all!Do I recommend the place? Yes.If I will be back in Budapest I will stay here again.!( Will bring my own towels and own bed sheets if I can) ….
Bianka the manager was very kind to allow us leave our cases in the flat to late afternoon.
And do not forget:If you love cats,Walk out from the flat ,take first right ,walk some 400 meters and visit the CatCaffee on your left.Open daily from 10:00
