The hotel is about 25 minutes by car from the International Airport and about a 15-20 minute walk from Fashion Street and the attractions located across the banks of the Danube. the hotel is in well maintained 19th century building with ornate moldings in public areas and external statues visible from the windows of the wide, red-carpeted staircase (good to try if only to get the feeling of the building's design before the elevator was installed). I stayed in a room on the fourth floor, modern and clean, with an elongated but narrow bathroom. Breakfast was OK, but with limited selection of fresh fruit and self-service coffee from an automated machine. Staff were welcoming and pleasant positively disposed to help but need more training. Overall, I would stay in this hotel again next time I am in Budapest.

What a wonderful hotel. Exceptional service and great staff. The breakfast is excellent. Convenient location with everything close by. Definitely will recommend to all our friends in Canada. Will stay at this chain of hotels any time.

125 years, but has renewed charm. Piano bar, buffet breakfast, and top shelf dinners. Pleasant staff and well kept facilities. Very close to local transportation and centrally located for site eyeing. Rooms range from "Cruise Ship" small to two room suites. We'd come back!

If you are looking at this hotel and not a 5stars one, that means that the word ‘Budget’ is in your requirements. Don’t worry this is a great alternative. An “almost” a 5 starts hotel (ambience and service) with the price tag of a 4 stars hotel.

Great for business (Executives or small group) for away day or business meetings. Great access to lovely restaurant and comfortable well equipped meeting rooms. Food for meetings great! Catering for special needs i.e. Diabetic corner, etc.

Now here is where it gets more interesting, bring your wife/husband along!!! You could pair it with a romantic stay too!! How??? If you are a romantic ask for the suite 207 ‘Rigo Jancsi’ (google it) or any of their suites, and ask for a flower arrangement and cake.

If you are going for business but have some time to enjoy a couple trip go for it. Here you have perfect location next to Bar/Restaurant district and palace district and short walk to river and touristic sites.

Another thing is that I hate crowds, and the Ritz, Marriot, Kempinski are great £££ but they are in one of the most crowded areas, if high season the Nemzeti is away from the crowds.

Downside, it does not have a gym or pool… but you could go to any of the famous SPAs around or could do light yoga in room (complimentary sets) but.. well Budget-Business-Romance is a rare mix!

So if you are booking for your executives plus one!! and budget!!! Go for this. Families are welcome too, and they cater for the little ones. So if you visit Budapest for Business you have no excuse to bring the family with you!!!

…If you need an excuse… well… see my other reviews (Budda-bar, Mercure Korona)
Thank you Accor team for a great so amazing welcome to our business group! We felt Welcome!

Room Tip: Book 207 for romance

Dear Hada M,

Thank you very much for taking the time to write such an extensive and amazing review of your recent stay. I was so pleased to read, that you had such a great experience in the Hotel Nemzeti. It almost sounds like something taken out of our catalogue, our marketing team could not hace written it better...:)
I certainly hope, that we will have the chance to see you and your group again soon!

Hotel has a very comfortable location with trams bus and metro at less than 100 meters. Staff is very nice and helpful and guide you about all places to see . Morning breakfast was good but would have been better if a live counter for eggs and omelette was there. Rooms are small with barely enough space to move.
