Description: Jamie's Italian Budapest is Jamie Oliver's first restaurant in Central-Europe, located in the historic site of the Buda Castle. Spacious and full of light, it is the perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends or family, or stop by for a drink at the end of the day. The unique menu features plenty of Jamie's Italian classics, as well as artisanal pizzas, an excellent range of draft beer and local wine.

A very nice place to sit and people watch. I had calamari starter which was great. I had a Parma pizza for main and to be honest there was more Parma on the menu than on my Pizza. Would have enjoyed a bit more meat. Overall service is good and punctual. I’ve been to other restaurants belonging to Jamie Oliver and the standard is pretty high. Well worth a visit if you fancy something Italian.

We didn't even eat here as we had just eaten but the location was in such a great place we stopped for a little drink. It was lovely..we sat by the bar in front of the bar man who whipped up some snazzy drinks and was so friendly and talkative...the food going by looked awesome...the smell and ambience was warming.

First a spoiler: Jamie is a culinary deity in our house as evidenced by all the books on the shelf, so we are not about to knock the menu choices. Actually the food in this restaurant is very good, and has the authenticity and imagination you associate with Jamie, although some of the portion sizes would result in the the 'munchies' later in the day. The kids loved the Spag Bol and hamburger, and our lamb cutlets were very tasty, if a tad overpriced at 21 euro. House red wine (a decent Primitivo) was competitively priced for central Budapest. Service was just fine. But here's the problem: there's no space to swing a cat. They have crammed so many tables inside and outside this site that despite the clever design, it ends up feeling like a fast food joint. Our table for 5 (two kids) was one of the largest, but by the time everything was on the table there was hardly space for a Lego policeman, let alone the the salt and pepper. The staff showed such a commendable degree of patience and agility in dodging reception desk queues and wandering guests that I wondered if they had had a practical test on interview. You can live with this in Burger King (I imagine) but when you are paying over 200 euros equivalent for a lunch for a family of five, you come out thinking hard about value for money. I think they are overselling the brand. p.s. Jamie is still a top geezer.

Jamie Oliver is hitting home runs with this place. We were staying in the area for three nights and we ate here twice. We had great service and the menu didn’t disappoint. What great food. Walk across the street and check out the horse!

Just down the street from the Matthias Church in the castle district, Jamie’s offers a very nice selection of Italian specialities. Our group had prawns with linguine and lasagne... all great. We coupled it with a white Hungarian wine ... very nice...great service... indoors or outside seating! Recommended!
