Hotels in Ljubljana aren't pricey. This is probably one of the best Intercontinentals you'll find on a per Euro basis.
Positives
- rooms are large and v well appointed. Like all IC, a big notch above Hilton, but less than Ritz Carlton etc
- food is good at breakfast and in the restaurant
- excellent gym, pool, sauna with great views
Points to think about
- bed very hard. (I didn't sleep that well (which could have been the quantity of Slovenian red wine...)
- I wish hotels would publish their pool sizes. I emailed and got the information. 11m i.e. too short for decent lengths BUT they failed to mention that it has a swimming jet, but I hadn't packed goggles. Grrr.
- the location is fine if you don't mind walking 10 mins to the tourist centre. But if that's an issue, there are very nice looking historical boutique hotels in that area (likely with less in the way of gym/pool etc)
- the service in the restaurant was oddly welcoming and absent. I didn't get offered coffee at breakfast and actually had to go to the front desk to get it.
