We loved staying at the Savic, with its very friendly and accommodating staff (shout-out to the lovely receptionist). We particularly enjoyed staying in room 206, with it's painted coffered ceiling and large bath tub. It's a Renaissance experience with all the modern amenities. Centrally located, and as charming as any building in Prague's Old Town. It's also handy to the Absintherie, which we also enjoyed very much. We'll be back!

Room Tip: Ask for room 206.

Room Tip: Rooms are excellent, try not to get 4th floor, as lift only goes up to 3rd. However we were on the 4th and the room was above expectations

As part of a city break, we stayed at the Savic from the 4th to the 8th May, having been advised, by friends, of the hotel's convenient location.

The Savic is, indeed, a pleasant place to stay, housed in a beautiful old building in the centre
of the cobbled-streeted old town, and close to all the 'must see' attractions.

Arriving on an early flight, we were aware that check-in would not be possible, but the reception staff were very accommodating and allowed us to leave our bags in a secure area so that we could head out to do some early sight-seeing.

When we returned to check in, the service was helpful and friendly, although the process took a long time because the room we should have been staying in had a 'technical problem' and we had to wait to be allocated an alternative (room 202). When we did enter the room, however, it was a large, modern and very pleasant one, with an absolutely superb bathroom. The only problem we found with room 202 is that it was often pervaded by food smells from the kitchens below, but all in all, the room and the public areas were very pleasant indeed.

The facility which let the Savic down was the restaurant, and particularly the outside terrace. The food and drinks were perfectly acceptable, although the service was a little inconsistent. On most occasions, we were served by 'liveried' waiters (wearing black and white)' and these members of staff were friendly, efficient and professional.

Our problem arose at the weekend, however, when the terrace was staffed by a mail waiter, scruffily dressed in jeans, and far less interested in customer care than his more professional colleagues. He seemed irritated that we chose to spend some time with drinks before eating, and on one occasion, when asked by a customer if they could sit at a table by the heater, he replied, loudly so that we could hear, that they could if they were going to eat, and not just drink.

Sunday was our last evening, and we had intended to eat at the hotel, for convenience, but when we saw that the terrace restaurant was unlit, and the heaters were all switched off, we felt it rather unwelcoming, and decided to dine elsewhere.

The Hotel Savic is, indeed, a good hotel, but I feel it would be better still, if the restaurant raised its game the the same high standards.

I visited the Czech Republic as a part of a media team supporting the Czech qualifiers for an international event. I looked at a lot of hotels in Prague and finally settled on the Savic. It was just what I needed. A central location, not a 'travel' style property and with some local character.
The receptionist could not have been more helpful and welcoming and I was soon on my way to my room. The room was very clean, reasonably large and very quiet.
I enjoyed wandering the city and it's sights and the following morning had the advantage of being right in the heart of the city as I got up early to avoid the tourist rush. I got some great shots of the sights and attractions and then returned to the hotel for a great breakfast.
I will definately stay at the Savic in the future, for both business and pleasure.

A lovely quiet spot one block off the main drag. Two many attractions within a walking distance to list. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Fantastic period room with reclaimed beams and a five star bathroom. Old town Prague was truly enchanting. Every turn was like a postcard. I see now why Prague is referred to as the Paris of the Eastern Block.
