The Hotel Paritz appear to have an interesting history and we tried to find some write-up but the little we could find somewhat dissapointing. Checked into a “ deluxe” room 116 which again showed how deceiving internet pictures and marketing are. Tucked away around the corner at the end of the corridor, Very clausterphobic with barely space to move on either side of the bed, large storage space though and good enough bathroom; but I promptly walked out and was ready to leave. Fortunately we found a room upgrade at considerable cost, and not without a stern frown from the lady at the Reception desk, but on the 4th floor (405) with a very nice view from three windows. Had to carry all our luggage from first floor to 4th floor, no help offerred it appeared they were not happy with me . However new “Executive” room at night very very noisy from the street below and have to close windows and rely on air-conditioner. Ideal location and splendidly maintained property with various visits to the Cafe’ proving to provide some of the best meals we had in Prague. Some staff find it hard to be friendly it appeared but in the main friendly and attentive, especially in the Cafe’. The top restaurant however way above our price range but appeared in keeping with the style of the hotel. Pleasant if somewhat expensive stay and a hotel to be recommended.More
