Casa Verde (note misspelling on TripAdvisor) is the perfect place if you are looking for a quiet beach house at the end of the road. It is literally at the end of the last road on the Osa Peninsula, right on the beach, and surrounded by tall tropical forest canopy. If driving your own car, make sure it is 4-wheel drive, because the last couple of miles are rough and the road crosses several streams. The owner Ted was very helpful and his assistants, Eber and Yeimy, were perfect hosts.
Last Easter, in April 2017 I had the opportunity to spend a few days of vacation in Casa Verde, in Cabo Matapalo, Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica.
This gorgeous house is conveniently located a few steps from the water, right in front of the sea. Casa Verde is a haven of peace, in which it is only interrupted by the noise of the Scarlet Macaws, Monkeys or any other resident animals of the area (a bunch of wildlife by the way!)
The price is quite convenient and the property has a very impressive ecology and conservation orientation where the care takers are always on top of that. The gardens, carefully maintained are always green, plus, when the heat becomes very strong, relaxing for while in the pool is always great.
This was one of the best experiences in the rainforest. From Casa Verde you can perform activities like a hike to the waterfall, visit Corcovado National Park Whale Watching or Dolphin Watching, great fishing among others. I chose to rest, the hammocks they have on the porch, are special to relax in the afternoons.
The Casa Verde staff was very friendly and always attentive to our needs, I want to go back just now!
