“We loved this place”
Reviewed 13 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

Its a great villa - very comfortable with fabulous views across the mountains. We spent New Year here and the weather was very kind to us - blue skies and sunshine all week which meant that we could sit outside on the terrace with a beer in tee-shirts during the afternoon - although once the sun sank behind the mountain it got cold very quickly. But that was fine - perfect time to light the log burner and settle down on the sofa with a good book.

Paqui turns up 11am ish on a weekday to tidy up the house. She is lovely but doesn't speak any English and my Spanish is non-existent however a bit of mime, pointing and smiling seems to get messages across. She also cooked for us one night - we ordered the food via a bilingual form and she delivered it hot and ready to eat around 6.30pm on the evening - there was a lot of it and it was delicious - especially the Spanish Omelette.

The area around Montecorto is beautiful - its very green and the white villages which dot the hillsides are picturesque and were quiet when we visited although I understand its very different in the height of summer when it gets very busy. We came across very few other British tourists during the week and if you can't speak Spanish then you will need to practice your pointing and smiling in the little local shops - everyone was very helpful and we managed to buy all we required.

We didn't eat in the local bars so can't comment on the quality.

“The perfect, romantic hideaway...”
Reviewed 13 December 2014 for a stay in December 2014

We were looking for a really special place for a romantic celebration and we found it.
Everything was just perfect! The position, the privacy, the books, the music and the stunning design...and it was nice to arrive and find a bottle of champagne as a welcome!
A perfect place for lovers....
