Cable Bay has beautiful views out towards Auckland. The day we were there it was really windy but it didn't detract from the view. We were three couples celebrating wedding anniversaries and when our server heard this, he took the time to congratulate us all. The food was lovely - we had a mix of platters, pizza, fries & duck fat potatoes; nothing low cal for us! This was washed down with the Cable Bay Viognier which is absolutely gorgeous. We ended up taking away four bottles from the cellar door! A very easy walk from Oneroa.

We came here for our wedding anniversary and the owner had disgusting manners towards patrons and also his staff. If you’re after a great tasting experience and also great service, please visit Mudbrick up the road - you will not be disappointed.

Don’t get me wrong, the setting is great, the wines were nice, but the “Cellar Door tasting” experience didn’t leave me with much to take away. We were given a little spiel from the woman who seemed to be “spinning a lot of plates” in the building at one time, and then left to drink the sample of wine. There wasn’t a place to ask questions, get general understanding of why they do what they do or wine in the area, or whether you can get their wines off the island.

Feel like we would’ve had a similar experience by just buying a few glasses from the bar and chatting to one another.

Positive note would be visiting here made us appreciate others on the island more.

Nice place, average food, bad service. Nobody received us, had to look for a waiter to sit us. Sat us on a dirty table, had to ask twice for it to be wiped. Was wiped using a napkin.

Very pleasant lunch with great service, good wine recommendation and atmosphere. Cable Bay has bounced back from covid it would appear.
