Website showed large modern looking units, but unfortunately we were not in 1 of them. We were given an older portable cabin, number 5.The bed was so short that I had to sleep diagonally across it and my wife had to sleep in the single bed in the other room.
Overall the accommodation was OK but not what we thought we were booking.
Would have booked elsewhere had we known.
Date of stay: March 2018
Room Tip: Don't book a family room or cabin 5.

Advice: DO NOT BOOK THE FAMILY ROOM, NOT WORTH THE MONEY. IT'S DEPRESSING WITH ITS DECOR AND FURNITURE.
First of all the web site does not show a picture of the family room.
Then the unit is off putting as soon as you get the key for the unit and know which one it is. Once you open the door you get the second shock by the distasteful DECOR and the luck of space from a family room. The kitchen is almost non exixtant, a very very tiny area with a microwave and kettle and a big sign saying "BEFORE CHECK-OUT KITCHEN MUST BE TIDY, SAUCEPANS, PLATES AND CUTLERY MUST BE WASHED AND DRY BEFORE PUTTING BACK IN CUPBOARDS.
EXTRA CHARGES FROM $30 - 50$ APPLIES FOR ANY EXCESSIVE MESS LEFT BEHIND"
Saucepans, how could they get dirty as there is nothing to use them on and cook.
That is very off putting when you first arrive especially after a long drive on the Great Ocean Road to get there.
When I asked the receptionist about where to hang our clothes, something we call "Wardrobes", i got another shock when she said there is a single coat hanger on the inside in a small shower room / toilet, but she may an effort to go and get my wife and I two coat hangers. What a joke!! Be prepared to keep all your clothes in the suitcases.
Electrical sockets were extensions on extensions - no safety in mind considering it is after all a family room.
I could go on and on. So it's not worth going through all the issues about this so called "Family Room".
My advice to the owner is to knock it down and build a proper FAMILY ROOM and charge a bit more if necessary rather than fooling your customers.
My advice to customers is DO NOT BOOK THIS "Family Room". There are a number of other accommodations in the centre of Port Campbell which look a lot better.
Be warned !!!

Room tip: Try somewhere else in Port Campbell

The unit was very clean and comfortable. Was like a home away from home. Very well equipped kitchen. Unit was well-furnished. Laundry facilities also provided. Location also good. Just a short drive to town centre and to the 12 Apostles.

We had a one night stop over at Summer's Rest Units and were assigned Cabin 5 which was OK but nothing to write home about. My wife & I had a great nights sleep, but our sister-in-law could not stretch out in her bed which was way too short, for her and she is only 165 cm tall. All else was fine except the outdoor furniture on the balcony which was filthy and unable to be used before I spent 30 minutes cleaning it so we could sit down on the chairs and use the table without getting our clothes stained.

Room tip: Cabin No 5 is a poor cousin to the other units. The bed in the second bedroom is extremely short, fine for kids but not adults.

We stayed in Unit 1. Young lady in reception at check in time was lovely. We had a fast a efficient check in process. Clean tidy two bedroom self contained cabin. Double bed in one room amd bunk and a single bed in the other. Can accommodate 5 people. Lounge, dining and kitchen in one area and the toilet and shower off the kitchen. There is not strong water pressure in the shower, but okay. Towels were nice and fluffy. An affordable place for families to stay on Great Ocean Road trip. Fast and free internet in room. If the property manager reads this review there is a couple of things I would like to mention for future guests comfort. Unit 1 needs a draught excluder at the back door (right beside the toilet, its freezing on a cold windy night) also clean the exhaust fan filter above the shower. The main bedroom bed was very comfortable with great quality linen used, but the bed head squeaked every time you moved about too much in bed. I loved that there was an electric blanket on the bed.

We were so tired after a whole day's tour driving from warnambool to port Campbell. We arrived quite late but the check in was a Breeze. We asked about dinner options and were told there is a small store and some eateries nearby within few mins drive. Nice place for a nite stop.
