Description: A destination Bakery-Cafe, set amongst the trees, with gardens full of herbs, flowers and character - a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle, only minutes from the beach. We specialise in Wood-Fired Sourdough, doughnuts and pastries made fresh throughout the day and an all day breakfast and lunch menu made using the freshest ingredients, with almost every component made on site. Famous for our bread, cookies, doughnuts, speciality coffee and our surroundings. Take a peak through the large glass doors and see our Bakers and Chefs hard at work. At the heart of it all is our wood fired oven, her burning light never completely fading, forever keeping the soul of Paddock alive. She is where it all started, made with antique red bricks collected from all around Australia. Proudly published in The New York Times, The Guardian, The Independent, The NZ Herald, CNN, Qantas, Virgin, MTV and more.

Sunday Breakfast for four of us. All garden and indoor seats were full so had to go up to the rooftop seating area. Ordering is at the counter which took 40mins to reach the register just to place our order. The service after then was reasonably fast, the server was almost running to get water, drinks, and food to the tables. The menu is interesting but two of my companions are very basic eaters and not much for them to easily choose. This place has a huge reputation but due to how busy it was and parking difficult to find we're unlikely to come back soon. My Mexican breakfast sounded better on paper than in reality as the cob loaf was rock hard and the rest lacking in full flavours or spice.

Today Mum and I went in with our little dog for my birthday, we had Mushrooms and Pumpkin, I had Salmon Bagel, Latte and Black Tea, we also ordered an Almond Croissant. We Covid scanned in, Mum got a table and I ordered at the counter. I asked fir a large latte with half strength, ended up with a mini latte (about a mouthful) anyway that was the only hiccup, the food was splendid and the service was quick. We sat in a cool spot under a tree. I might mention the lady who took my order was very pleasant and efficient she was thorough with the Covid scanning which I appreciated. Lady with a few piercings. #miike2000

Lovely vibe and outdoor setting. Breakfast was delicious. Portion sizes quite large. The milkshakes were a real hit with the kids. Coffee is very good. Will be back when in Burleigh again!

Let’s get the low points out of the way: for an establishment this size and with such through-put, three loos (M, F and disabled) are not enough - absurdly underdone!

The place is otherwise a GREAT experience, even if the line up to order and the fight for tables is a little daunting and perhaps discouraging for first-timers. It shows, of course, their incredible popularity. A great credit to them yes, but sadly it’s to the customers’ detriment having to wait a long time for their treats!

We loved everything and the açai bowl was outstanding and absolutely worth that wait.....but a couple of comments for what they are worth:

The egg in the bacon and egg roll had a ‘pre cooked’ feel about it. And the general temperature was, well, fairly non existent, which we imagine means they are preassembled for dispatch ‘as and when’. The sourdough was excellent nevertheless.

The creme brûlée donut: could not resist one!! It’s fun and a ‘must do’, although we were not wowed by the taste actually. The wow factor was in the Lamington milkshake.... mmmmmmm!!

A final comment about the water station - it was shut down, presumably due to covid??? Yet lots of tables had water jugs and glasses. We seemed to miss out??? Not sure why everyone isn’t offered water.
