Food was tasty and the chef was very accommodating with my dietary requirements. Friendly staff and a relaxed feel.

It was our first lunch after arriving in palm Cove for my Birthday. We ordered
the “Painted Lobster” seafood platter and a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. I showed my ID and told him it was my birthday. The proprietor didn’t even wish happy birthday. In light of ordering a crayfish seafood platter that didn’t remotely resemble a large platter, but was presented more like 2 ordinary plates of half crayfish, and counting 4 mussels to be exact + half wilted small salad on the side and a few crumbed calamaris. No oysters or anything else that over associate with a “seafood platter”! For $240 lunch, one’d hope for a free drink or desert! Never mind the disappointment, the proprietor had the audacity to ask for a good review, then proceeded to make us wait for a good 5 minutes to pay so we could leave. The highlight was the nice waiter from Houston, but even he didn’t top up our drinks as one would expect in a proper restaurant at that price. Deeply disappointing and lack luster, not to mention the lack of rapport or diplomacy. In contrast, Neptune’s Restaurant totally delivered the next day, with a proper mud crab platter and the crayfish platter is much cheaper with more!!

Completely over priced and underwhelming. Considering we had paid a ridiculous amount of money we had expected good quality food to justify the expense. The chicken dish we ordered was completely flavorless and the salad had one drop of dressing on it. One member of our group ordered the seafood platter and it was quite small considering it was $210. The lobster was raw and so they had to ask the chef to cook it for a bit longer. Would never go back here and would never recommend it to anyone.

Brian the owner creates delicious dishes and often has specials which aren’t advertised, so I recommend asking him what he has before you order. Last night we had Beef Rendang and Sticky Pork which we’re fantastic. Also the Black Pepper prawns and the Black sticky rice for dessert are old favourites. Don’t walk past without giving it a go you’ll regret it!
