My wife and I stayed 7 nights with a hotel reservation.
We arrived here by private taxi($148) from the Whostel in Santiago, at 1 PM, less than a 4 hour drive through vast rice fields.
Their Spanish speaking receptionist processed my Visa card, then provided a small bag with our keys, AC and TV(CNN/CBS in English) controls, and tickets for beach/pool towels. A bellman carried our bags up the 2 flights of steps to our 3rd floor room #B10. The entry key activates the electricity to this clean tiled spacious room with a comfortable king, 2 nightstands, 3 door closet, refer, bag stand, shelf unit with TV, small desk and chair, and spacious fully outfitted bathroom with separate shower. Our private patio, with a table and 2 chairs, both inside and out, overlooks the beach bar and the Atlantic surf.
The 7:30 AM breakfast buffet(sometimes delayed and unorganized) is served at the El Kiosco with fresh fruit, OJ, coffee/hot milk/tea, meat, cheese, scrambled eggs and pancakes.
The pool with foot/body shower is overlooked by a massage room and 2 bike gym which we used daily.
Our general situation here is nearly perfect in good weather with the perfect walk-able Playa Bellenas(calm, wide with gentle slope) extending for 1.5 km to the west, while 600 m to the east begin the restaurants of the Pueblo de Los Pescadores and the village. To its south, we found the small Supermarket Ignacio, then nearly a further km, the large Super Mercado Lindo/Scotiabank.
Las Terrenas caters to an older Italian and French clientele; we enjoyed our visit and this property was an excellent value at ~$US 70/night, using our Visa.
