I wanted to update my January review on this hotel, it has remained the same and still one of the best values in Las Terrenas, I have been here 4 times this year so far, great value, clean, simple no frills hotel right on the beach, Nice pool, New massage cabana by the pool, restaurant on beach is very good and serves fresh seafood and other dishes, European owned and managed.
This simple but perfectly adequate hotel is situated slightly outside the town, but within easy walking distance. This makes it much quieter and easier to park. It’s very straightforward with no frills, but all rooms are sea facing with balcony or terrace, TV, water and toiletries. It’s a bit worn round the edges but clean and comfortable. Lovely grounds with secluded swimming pool. Breakfast is a bit chaotic and can run out when it gets busy. However, it has a small beach bar with good food and the added bonus that tax isn’t charged so it ends up being quite a bit cheaper than every other venue. There are also beds for guests to use on the beach. Can be great value if you get a good deal.
The first morning there a was Good breakfast with buffet, The second was no Good, any buffet, only a plait with half toast, some fruit And egg. I dont eat egg in The morning !!! I think is no Good changement .
We stayed 3 nights at Costarena Hotel and our stay was terrific. The hotel was comfortable and very affordable. Our room was on the third floor with a fantastic view of the beach and ocean. The bed was very comfortable. The room came with breakfast which was basic but satisfactory. The only complaint is that the coffee was in short supply. The staff at the hotel were great right from the reception people to the maintenance staff. The little beach restaurant connected with the hotel was very attentive to customers serving good meals at reasonable prices. Like I said, the location was the biggest selling feature with a beautiful beach right across the road.

I have stayed in probably 20 different Hotels in Las Terrenas over the past few years most are small clean apartment type hotels close to the beach. This is an older construction but completely renovated with new paint and decent bedding, bathroom hardware is older and ok TV has good channel selection wifi decent and it reaches on the beach. The nice part of this hotel is that each rooms have ocean view and a nice balcony with spacious rooms. The beds are comfy and 4 pillows in the king bed room with good AC and fridge. Shower takes a bit to get warm but it's ok. It's super clean and has no mildew odors. The breakfast is basic but freshly prepared. Service is limited but staff is very friendly and accommodating. The beach is great and a cross the hotel they have good Lounge chairs with table, bar and restaurant so perfect, you are walking distance from good eats and some nightlife etc.. Tennis courts are not on property but 500 yards towards town. Nice clean pool and garden area. For the price, the location etc.. This is a great little hotel. I will be back.
