Nice stay

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 11 Jun 2019
This was my first stay at the Residencia del Paseo. The location is fantastic, it's right across the street from the beach and local to everything in town (Markets, dance studios, restaurants, bars, dance clubs, etc..)

The room I stayed at did not have AC which was a bit of an adjustment for me. I later found out that other rooms did have AC so I would recommend asking for one of those rooms. Because of the way the rooms are shaped and located, you don't even get a breeze in the room and the fan was just blowing hot air around which made it very difficult to sleep.

There is a kitchen and mini fridge which was great if you wanted to prepare your own foods. I stocked up on water and drinks from the local market and just filled up the fridge for the stay.

There was a cute balcony that was screened in where you could sit and enjoy the view of the pool and garden. The resort staff was very friendly and as helpful as they could be.

It's not the fancy resort type but it certainly will provide you with a DR experience and the location was perfect.

I am so dissapointed with our stay at this place (we can't call it a hotel). Upon our arrival we were able to check in and proceeded to go to our room. Our 1st issue was that the AC wasnt working so they acommodate us in another room. Children were exited and we went to the pool. After that we went to the beach which is across the street from the place. We went back to the room and AC wasnt working, bathroom was small and the bathroom sink was cloth.
I called the front desk and no one answer, i went to the front desk and everyhing was closed. I went to the security guard and ask him where was the front desk personal and he response was "we dont have no housekeeper or front desk after 9pm".
So if you want to visit las terrenas, please choose another place.

I had visited this place a few times (high and low seasons). I love it because is near almost everything in Las Terrenas. The rooms are not the best (why would you like a big bedroom when is all about being outside on the beaches?), the bedrooms have a little kitchen where you can make breakfast/dinner and a executive fridge, only 1 bathroom with hot/cold water. A nice swimming pool where you can put your music and have your own drinks.

You can park your car in their private parking lot. On the back side there is a small cafeteria with incredible sandwiches and hot chocolate for less than RD$200.00 (US$5.00). You have Los Pescadores town (10 minutos walk) where are all the bars, discos and restaurants. Playa Bonita is like 10-15 minutes away in car.

We stayed there for two nights, the location is perfect for everything from dining to go to the beach. They have a nice pool and beautiful areas. Very recommended for people that love to walk and have an easy conection to whole town!

Contrary to the advertisement, this place was not as comfortable and enjoyable as we expected. The room did not have airconditioning and the electricity was on and off. The WIFI was terrible even at close proximity to the reception area and the pool was not clean enough to use. The staff were hard to find and not very helpful, even with the basics like requests for clean towels. Ground floor balcony area in the room was not at all nice - plastic furniture and a view obscured by a thick fly screen. Would not stay again
