I do alot of reviews for las terrenas on trip advisor have been to las terrenas twice for a total for 4 weeks. My in laws have been travelling to the area for 6 years. We have been to many of the hotels checking rates and what they have to offer. This hotel put us in a situation were we had to walk away and stay somewhere else. They put us in a room which i believe was less the cost of the room in which we thought we were staying in. They did offer us to switch into the room we wanted in the first place(which we looked at the year prior) at first after 6 nights of staying in the room we didnt want and when we said no beuno they change it to the next day but didnt want to refund us for the time stayed in a smaller room that i believe cost less. It was a terrible start to the vacation and we walked away and stayed somewhere else. Some of the rooms they offer are beautiful and the side of the beach they are on is quieter and nice. But as for cost and costomer service i found that they were terrible and i believe they have lost touch with the reality that the costomer is right. I feel that there arrogance and the manner in which they did business with us made them feel like they had the upper hand and it was you do it our way or lose the money which we had invested in our vacation which we did. Ultimately it is your decision wether you choose to stay here or not and i had to learn the hardway. All i can say in the end is i know there are alot of better deals in las terrenas for people that are staying long term and i hope you dont make the same mistake my family and i did.

I spent 1 night in this place with my girlfriend and it was definitely more than we expected. Upon arrival we were welcomed by a very kind and helpful staff (Ines and Reynaldo) , who helped us with our luggage and showed us our room. The bed was king sized and very comfortable and the ac units were working just fine, very important for a good night sleep. The kitchen had all the basic appliances we needed to cook ourselves breakfast and dinner. The only negative thing i can recall is that they don't take AMEX Card as a payment method.

About the location:
All the apartments at this hotel have a balcony facing the incredible Las Ballenas Beach, which is just a few steps away, just across the street.
The fishermen's town is 15 min walking distance, yet we decided to go driving and park on the premises. In this part of town you can find excellent nightlife and food, for very reasonable prices.

What exceded my expectations:
The hotel offers beach towels and beach lounge chairs upon request (both at no extra cost).
They offer a complimentary bottle of water.
We had access to the pool and the beach through the apartment's terrace (1st floor)

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Marilar. The condos are clean and well-maintained, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is ideal - quiet beach area but walkable to the center of town. The only reason I didn't give the rating 5 stars is because the elevator on site was broken, and we were staying on the 3rd floor. The walk upstairs was worth it for the beautiful ocean view and incredible sunsets. I would definitely return to this hotel in the future.
