We (family of 4) stayed for 4 nights at the Playa Colibri on our recently concluded maiden trip to the DR and thoroughly enjoyed it!
Some of the things we really enjoyed about this hotel:
* The spaciousness of our 1 bedroom apartment (it actually had 5 beds and 2 baths and a kitchen spread over 2 floors).
* The beach (las ballenas) which is just amazing and seems to stretch for ever on
either side of the hotel.
* Breakfast being served right on the beach! The food choices were adequate but not outstanding.
* Easy 15-20 minute walk to Las Terrenas town center.

Food is great! But the Service Is a desaster!
The worst Service ever in my life. All of them same. Forget a lot,unfriendly and ignorant!
The Food was always good and the prices are fair. The view is amazing. Everyday we were not sure if we want the nice food with this unfriendly Service people.

We spent 3 nights. We got unfortunetely for wrong room, in the ground floor with balcony and view for hotel facilities like loundry etc. We couldn't use the balcony because of loud conversations of the staff and mosquitos. It wasn't a lot of light in the room. the room was like a burrow. The breakfasts were on the beach but it wasn't lots of choice especially after 9 am. It wasn't first time in this hotel but I think last.
