the stay was very good, we stay over new years, i am native dominican, and my wife is american, we brought my family, and my wife parents, they enjoy it a lottt.
couple of things to improve, the wifi was slow, and the music from the surrounding colmado (bodega, pool parlor) could be hear in the house for around 24 hrs, but i guess the latter is hard to control.

As you are dominican, you have to understand the the period christmas/new years eve is very difficult to manage in term of noise from the dominicans.
I am sorry for that, i did t know it was such a problem for you.
You should have told me this before and i will have done my best to lower the music with the police during your stay.
Since your stay in December, with all the neighbors, we succeed to close the "colmado" so now Loma Taniera is as quite as before...
Regarding internet, as i always said before to the client, you have to notice that you are in the middle of the mountain, in the middle of nowhere.
We don t have high speed internet, but you have a Wonderfull sea view. Internet is coming from las terrenas city center in wifi, and there is no other way.
Sorry for that, but the internet speed is enough for the other client, you are the first to mention this.

Villas Taniera is a great place, we really enjoyed our stay.
The villas are located on top of the hill near Las Terrenas center. It's very quite. You do need a jeep (or a quad) to access. The villa is located 3 mins away driving from the beach (Playa Popy) where you can find delicious food and cocktails and 10 minutes by foot from the city center with shops, bakeries, restaurants, bars etc.
The villa is on three floors with the master bedroom on top. A second bedroom is on the ground floor while the other two bedrooms are on the floor below. Nice views from all bedrooms but the very best place is the infinity pool located at the front of the villa and the terrace arround. There is a lot of space in and arround the house. We felt at home.
Fred and his team (Nairobi, Manuel) are very helpful to make your stay pleasant.
The villa was cleaned daily by Nairobi.
The internet created some problems, but Nairobi send someone who solved it.
The villa is in the middle of a beautiful garden.
We could not pay the deposit and the final payment via paypal or on an account in Europe. We had some problem to transfer money to the D.R. and that also caused high fees for each transfer. Compared with other houses the deposit was quite high.
Leaving the problems regarding money transfers aside, it has been a magnificent experience...
We highly recommend Villa Taniera and thank Fred & Alix for this great holiday! We would like to come back in 2016 and already sent a request to Fred regarding our next stay :-) :-)

We have stayed now the second time at Villa Taniera and I can only recommend this place. The villas are all very cozy yet modern furnished and they offer a fantastic view over the bay. There is plenty of space for everything and we enjoyed the light atmosphere there.
Fred is a great host and he takes care of any issues you have. I have done a lot of research before I chose the place to stay (always 4-7weeks) and I was more than happy to stay there with my family. It's a safe place, close to the little town - you can walk there - but also quiet. Not so easy to find in :-).

An amazing place!
I can't say enough good things about the place,people and experience we had.
The staff are fantastic, and Frederick was easy going, dependable, helpful and absolutely trustworthy.

1 review I have stayed at Fredrick's villa numerous times, in the past two years. If you are looking for a beautiful villa set atop a mountain overlooking Las Terrenas Beach this is the place, look no further. The villa is quiet and serene and perfect for relaxing and enjoying your vacation. Also if you need someone to cook or run to the store for you there are people readily available to take care of everything while you are there and enjoying your stay. I would recommend this villa to anyone who is looking to enjoy there time at Las Terrenas for a very reasonable cost.
