Review of Seacove Resort
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 11 Nov 2022via mobile
Apartment 13 was lovely and clean. Had everything you would need for a self catering stay .
Very comfy beds.
Excellent showers.
Washing machine,dryer and dishwasher!
Beautiful verandah overlooking the pool.
Aircon worked really well.
Quiet area.
Date of stay: November 2022
Room Tip: The resort itself is a little tired and unclean unfortunately. Apartment 13 is the one to book...

Pool and spa was nice, but room was dated and dirty. Dirty dishes in the cupboard, dusty, blankets in wardrobe dusty and visibly dirty.
Air con leaked and room smelled musty and mouldy.

Overpriced for substandard accommodation.

Location was good

I would never recommend anyone stay here. We found out upon arriving that management had made a mistake and had double booked us over the Christmas/ New Year period. We had booked a family trip in August and then confirmed the accommodation closer to the date. The manager, Dominic, refused to acknowledge it was their mistake and kept saying "he is too busy to sort this out". He also kept saying we had cancelled through a third party platform. What had happened was that we booked initially 4 x 1 bedroom apartments through Hotels.com. Dominic then phoned us in August and said they did not have the 4 x 1 bedroom apartments but that he had 2 x 2 bedroom apartments (this was for 4 couples). He said to cancel Hotels.com and book directly. Accordingly, we booked directly through him over the phone and received two separate confirmation emails for each apartment and paid $200 deposit for each booking. Upon arrival on Boxing Day, Dominic said that one of the apartments had been cancelled by us, which was simply not true. We had emailed the week prior to check what time check in was for both apartments. Upon hearing of the error, we asked Dominic to help us arrange new accommodation on the basis that finding similar accommodation would be incredibly difficult and expensive at that time of year. We were pleasant and tried to resolve the issue but Dominic kept saying he was too busy and that we were after a "free holiday". Seacove directly deducted $2,400 from our credit card for the two apartments ($1,200 per apartment for 4 nights), even though they only provided us one apartment. We have asked for a refund for $1,200 but are yet to receive this. We then had to arrange accommodation for the two couples unable to stay at Seacove due to their mistake. Luckily there was two rooms available at Novotel, however they were $1,200 each for 4 nights, being double what we had paid to Seacove for the one 2 bedroom apartment which was suitable for two couples. We asked Seacove to cover the additional cost of staying at Novotel, as this was their mistake. They eventually agreed to pay $1,200 to Novotel for one of the rooms. This means we are out of pocket for the second room. As our family of four couples all live in separate states we had deliberately booked somewhere that we could all be together. Instead we spent our holiday driving between Coolum and Twin Waters. The accommodation at Seacove itself was terrible - the apartment was dirty and the smoke alarm appeared to be broken. This is by far the worst travel experience we have ever had and very disappointing for what was supposed to be a happy family time. We understand that mistakes happen, but the way that this was handled by management was atrocious. We didn't want to have to make such a negative review online, however we tried to resolve this directly to no avail. Sadly we now have to pursue legal action and lodge a dispute with our bank for the unauthorised payment taken.

We arrived to the air conditioning unit absolutely filthy and full of mould, which actually stunk! The floors were filthy and hadn’t been cleaned in god knows how long, the lounge was full of sand and shower was disgusting! The manager was informed about these issues and honestly couldn’t care less. An excuse was that someone stole the room keys and was in the room before us! Really!! The manager of this place is blatantly incompetent as well as the cleaning staff! Stay away!

Where do I start, overpriced at $144 pn for a pokey single studio room with not a thing I could say good about, only one key and that only opened a fly screen. Curtains should be used as rags so many holes in them, room was dirty and tv barely worked to the point we just turned it off...forget the wifi too. No allocated car space either...falsely advertised and way over priced. Very noisy with air cons one everywhere...only tip I can give is make sure you are upstairs, down and you here even the cockroaches walking. Shame the ratings at the bottom don’t work

Room tip: Good luck if you find one

Room was very nice, although could do with some minor renovation, Air con was great, bed was very good, Pool was excellent.. the pool gardens and location are A1, The manager was very helpful, but seemed a little stressed, pricing was what made us choose... We did not know how to get internet access, but we did not need it anyhow
