This golf resort restaurant is in a beautiful location, no traffic noise and a pleasant ambience. It tries to be upmarket with properly dressed staff, napkins, and excellent food, reasonably priced considering the surroundings. Little things let it down, I ordered a smoothie and was astonished that a glass with ice in it arrived followed by a plastic bottle of supermarket smoothie! The staff were attentive but seemed disorganised, having given our order another waiter came and asked if we would like to order! We really enjoyed the Eggs Benedict, genuine free range eggs, lovely bread and an excellent hollandaise sauce. Really recommend this place if you want to go a little upmarket from the run of the mill Wakatipu eateries.

Dear D_L740

We Agree, Great location!

Thank you for your feedback, we are constantly training so any areas of improvement pointed out are much appreciated. The eggs on the Benedict actually come from Millbrook's very own Chickens so were pleased to hear they were so well received.

Hopefully we will see you again soon.

Kind regards,

Matt McDonald

My wife and I enjoyed some breakfast before the long day of golf ahead. The staff were friendly and the food was great. Inside there are memorabilia on the walls as well as photos of prominent golfers as well as heads of state.

Excellent location and laid back service. Great views over the green during the day, roaring log fires at night. Good selection of drinks and reasonably priced food.

We ate here twice--once for lunch and once for dinner. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner or just drinks. It is right next to the putting green. It has a limited menu by design as my guess is it is to appeal to golfers finishing a round or starting a round or making the turn? It is housed in the original farm stables building. The gals who work there could not be nicer. This is casual dining. The menu is somewhat limited but varied. It has several pizzas, pastries, burgers, salads and a pasta and meat and fresh fish on the menu. I had a burger one meal and a salad the other meal and both were very good.

When you arrive you instantly think wow, its like you found an tiny piece of Europe for and afternoon spritz - such a wow factor.

Ambiance: A cute little bar / restaurant on the putting green surrounded beautiful landscaping - truely pretty

The Food: Basic resort menu but have to say it’s pretty good quality, extensive New Zealand wine list as to be expected and reasonable in its sizing and pricing.

The Service: Sadly this is where it all gets lost, the staff tend to like spending time inside together rather than talking to customers. I was here for 5 nights and you just can’t resist an afternoon drink in this cute little place, but it got to the point on night 5, I would walk inside to order 2 simple Hendricks G&T to be abruptly told by an arrogant guy behind the counter that someone will come to the table, after 5 mins I returned inside to be again told to go back outside.

Now I’m not one for over the top service and all the staff are genuinely busy, just doing everything else but talk to customers. The bar staff won’t even give you eye contact until they are ready to serve you in their own time, “a simple smile and hello, I won’t be a minute” goes a very long way.

I find it so hard to believe that less than 30 metres away the reception, concierge and even baggage team fall over them selves to be friendly and helpful.

Some work to do here.
