Owner description: Bodegas Emilio Moro is the result of three generations that, for the last half a century, have dedicated their lives to winemaking. The first generation worked the land, the second generation taught the third generation everything there is to know about wine, and this last generation has built an internationally recognized brand. All three generations have something in common: Their passion for wine. Our winery is located along the Golden Mile of the Ribera del Duero, about ten minutes away from the famous medieval castle of Peñafiel. Visit us to learn about winemaking and its mysteries. Taste our wines looking upon the beautiful scenery that surrounds the Duero River and discover the passion for wine of the Moro family. We offer a wide range of experiences that we guarantee will make for an unforgettable visit.

We were a group of 4 and had booked a tour here through our hotel (after checking reviews). This was one of the best tasting/tour experiences we have had in Europe or the US. Our host was Sophia who was excellent. While she was a little under the weather, Sophia was charming, well informed and knowlegeable. After a short walk out to a vineyard, we procedded to tour their production facilities and then settled in for a delightful tasting and light snack. The wines are very good and we purchased several bottles to enjoy. Highly recommend a stop here and request Sophia if you can. She was even gracious enough to recommend and book a dinner reservation for us near our hotel in Penafiel.

Reviews are meant to help businesses get better if they are willing to listen to the consumer. I am a fan of Emilio’s wine and was looking forward to visiting them. Being a lover of Napa, I do have high expectations but I have to say they lived up to it. It was an incredible experience guided by SOFIA! It was in Spanish but my boyfriend is English and she took the time to translate the most important parts of the tour at the point of the tastings. This is certainly a family wine that has maintained it’s traditions for years and their Valderramiro line is just incredible and can go head to head with some of the best in Napa.

A couple of things..if you book a tour in Spanish don’t expect for the tour to suddenly turn to English. Some of the reviews are not fair!

We were really looking forward to our visit, having booked it before leaving the UK. Explanation in English good, but it was impossible to decide whether the red wines which were tasted lived up to their reputation, as they were all served much too cold.
