Owner description: Bodegas Emilio Moro is the result of three generations that, for the last half a century, have dedicated their lives to winemaking. The first generation worked the land, the second generation taught the third generation everything there is to know about wine, and this last generation has built an internationally recognized brand. All three generations have something in common: Their passion for wine. Our winery is located along the Golden Mile of the Ribera del Duero, about ten minutes away from the famous medieval castle of Peñafiel. Visit us to learn about winemaking and its mysteries. Taste our wines looking upon the beautiful scenery that surrounds the Duero River and discover the passion for wine of the Moro family. We offer a wide range of experiences that we guarantee will make for an unforgettable visit.

We were really looking forward to our visit, having booked it before leaving the UK. Explanation in English good, but it was impossible to decide whether the red wines which were tasted lived up to their reputation, as they were all served much too cold.

I and my fiancée went on the 4x4 private wine tour at Emilio Moro in June 2018. We were super lucky that it was just us so we got a whole private tour with the amazing Sofia. She was such a pro, she answered all of our questions and made this tour the best. We got to go in a car along the vineyards where she showed us the history of Emilio Moro and then we ended up in the big house where we had a tasting and got some nice ham.

This was such a special day since we first had an Emilio Moro wine when we got engaged, so to get the private tour and the excellent guide Sofia made this one of the best days of our trip. We bought a bottle of Emilio Moro Sanchomartin that we will enjoy when we get married just to tie the knot together. Thank you for this!

We have been on a wine trip for 3 weeks tasting different regions in Spain. As we wind down our stay in Spain today, I have to say that Emilio Moro was our very favorite wine. We had a tour with Sofia, who was surprisingly knowledgeable despite being there only 2 weeks. We then enjoyed a tasting of their four best wines with some tapas. We met Mauro Moro and he even made dinner reservations for us at one of his favorite places. Thanks Sofia and Mauro! In Spain it is very difficult to taste wine without having to partake in a tour (we found just one place in Ribera del Duero) and a tour is required at Emilio Moro. As wine lovers who have been around the world tasting wine and been on more tours than we care to remember, we really just want to taste wines. Hopefully bodegas in Spain will change this practice in the future and then I will give five stars when appropriate. Regardless, visit Emilio Moro and you will not be disappointed!

This is a family-run, yet large, winery in the heart of the Ribera del Duero region. I think it's one of the must-visit wineries. We even got to meet the owner during the tasting. The wine was quite good, and the tasting comes with food that is generous. We were told you can even book a lunch at the winery, with the local specialty "lechazo" an option. We'd do that upon a return to the area - the service, the generosity of samplings, the location in a very quaint town make it a no-brainer.
