One Night Stay

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 28 Nov 2017
Welcomed with blueberry muffins, easy access and unit had everything we needed, very comfortable beds. Even though unit backed on to very busy road it was still very quiet.Next time we go to Papakura we will be staying at this motel.

The freshly cooked muffins were the best welcome you could have. Room was spacious, good kitchen and amenities, hot (if a little feeble) shower, and lots of shops a 15-20 minute walk away. The host was excellent and very helpful. They supply cooked breakfasts for 6 mornings (not Sundays). Downsides?? It is in the middle of a residential area so you get what residents do - barking dogs (and because it was early November- fireworks!) But there is ample parking off-road and I am happy to stay there again.

if you want to sleep in or use this hotel as a place for a breakaway then don't bother. i say this as even if you put the do not disturbe sign on the door they will proceed to call every morning and wake you to ask "when can we clean room" im pretty sure do not disturb means exactly that (I'm asleep! but thanks for waking me) or even if you are spending the day inside the hotel i would get a call asking "when are you going out today"....i can do what i like i paid for this room and i dont want to be questoned about my day, if i did i would stay at my mums. Thanks

As a couple we stayed for Four Nights, we received a warm welcome and warm muffins. The unit had a queen bed in a generous size studio unit, a small separate kitchen, and bathroom with a shower. The motel is older style but has been refurbished to a high standard. The owner showed me a picture of what it was like when he took the property over in 2014, they have really lifted the profile amazing what hard work a complete repaint and a refurb does. Would recommend this property if you want a quiet well maintained unit close to Papakura.

Really enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Papakura Motor Lodge. Definitely our favorite place to stay in this area. We did not have advance reservations, but the owner, Steve, was happy to show us all the available rooms for us to choose from. The rooms are basic, but very clean and new. We chose a room with a full kitchen, which was very well supplied. Would definitely recommend Papakura Motor Lodge if you need somewhere to stay in the area. (...and the freshly baked muffins that we were given at check in were a really nice touch!)

Room tip: Rooms at the back are further from the main road and may be quieter.

We stayed here while visiting family and found it had everything we needed. It was spacious and quiet. The owners were friendly (including muffins for us when we checked in). We would happily stay there again.
