Is it just me or, when you are paying $35-40 for a main, do you expect the menu to be on something better than a loose sheet of A4 paper? It looked like it had just come out of the photocopier. No menu folder or anything like that, just a piece of paper. I was hoping for a great night out but the average service and the limited menu (not much seafood!) put a damper on things.
However, the Gin and Tonics are apparently fantastic and the wine selection was good too.
It’s the second time we’ve been. I will go again and see if it’s any better.

Two of us had dinner on a sunday evening. The bread we shared at the start and it was delicious, as were the entrees. The mains were forgettable ( and I ate there a month ago and genuinely have forgotten), and we both felt they were average. The desserts were a nice end to the meal. Our waitress was also excellent and did apologise when there was a bit of a delay getting our dessert.

Visited with my partner and another couple. It was a busy night in the restaurant but there were free tables.
The service was average, the first woman that seated us was friendly but it took a long time between being seated and getting a drink order, which was taken by a passive aggressive (Irish?) chap who clearly wanted to be anywhere other than waiting our table.

Over the 2.5 hours we were there we only got served 2 drinks, because no one ever came near our table to ask if we wanted another. We were given water at the start and that was never refilled either. Compared to other restaurants charging a similar price for food, service was very poor.

Unfortunately the food didn’t get any better. We had the seafood platter - I would avoid this at all costs. Poor value for money at $60 nothing had any flavour, everything was cold, there was supposed to be a mix of hot and cold items from what I could understand but nothing was warm. We had clams that hadn’t opened when cooked on our platter, I’m pretty certain this means they are off and of course you can’t actually eat them if they are closed.

The halloumi salad $22 was really delicious, everyone agreed it was the stand out dish. The Broccoli side dish $8 was ok nothing special.

Louisiana style prawns $30 were also a big let down, the only flavour came from the chorizo, the big wedges of corn were awkward to eat. The massive chunks of potato were just that, no seasoning and not even made crispy to add texture or interest. The prawns were well cooked but again had no seasoning or spice which had been expected when selected off the menu.

Cocktails were around $20-22 each and they were good. I have yet to be let down by the cocktail here. In future I will stick to ordering a cocktail and going somewhere else to dine.

All four of our party left feeling annoyed at how much we had just spent for such poor service and average food. Total bill came to $239

Mains were expectedly good. It's the sides that were surprisingly sublime: plain old broccoli into a new league with pancetta, parsnips likewise with pistachios, and truffle-elevated French fries. Don't miss this place.
