We intentionally visited Urban Oyster due to it's high rating in the NZ Cuisine Awards. Touring the South Island, we didn't prebook but tried our luck Friday evening to walk-in off the street to find the restaurant pumping with customers indoors and outdoors. So we decided to visit for lunch instead on the Saturday. The food was delicious and well presented with chirpy and dedicated staff. Loved the fresh oysters with the tastes of the sea in the juices. We spoke to the owner, who was down to earth and friendly - as we had visited a previous restaurant of his that had won awards too. Highly recommend!
