Well worth the walk! Easy path suitable for kids and adults . The view was fantastic at the very end!!!
Easily accessed from a nearby carpark. Walk was in total about 30-40 mins depending on your speed

Well worth doing if you're in the area. Steep walk up to the top (15-30 minutes depending on your fitness) but well worth the views. Parking alongside the park is free and is probably the nearest long term free parking to the city centre so a good place to leave the car and walk to Queens Gardens, the Cathedral and City Centre.
The climb is worth it – but it is steep. The guide says allow 20 mins, which is good advice. You can do it in less, (as we did) but you will feel it. The reward is the stunning view.
We accessed this via a steep zigzag uphill walk, so worth bringing some water on a hot day. The monument provides nice views over the surrounding area too.
Quite a steep climb in places although the path is a good condition. Well signposted.
The views from the top are worth it.
Not too far from Nelson town centre is the Centre of NZ monument.
It’s a fairly steep hike up a pathway about 20 min. At the top you have beautiful 360 degree district views.
I quite enjoyed it at the top.
