I walk up there almost every day as it is good exercise and you have different tracks to get to the top where you are rewarded with a 360 degree view over the sea, the western ranges and the Matai Valley. As the hill is covered in trees and bush you can even walk it in full sun without being too exposed. Dogs are allowed here and poo bags provided at the bottom if you enter at the Botanic sport fields.
A lot of people underestimate the climb and attempt to walk up with prams and in flip flops. Not recommended!! It takes about 15 min to get up if you are reasonable fit. Worth the climb!
