Good ole fashioned hospitality on one of the busiest holiday periods post COVID-19 - besides Xmas of course! Thank you so much for a wonderful long weekend. We liked it so much that we stayed another night.

Aloha Lodge now has no front-desk and no service. Existing reservations are being handled by the check-in desk of the neighboring Beachcomber motel. It's unclear if the owners want to handle any new reservations. There were only 2 rooms occupied out of 20+ available, so it felt like a ghosting experience. There was maid-service, but she left insulting "clues" about how she felt, such as leaving a bottle of soap by some dirty dishes. But units have no kitchen, so washing dishes in bathroom sink is not practical.

We spent two nights in an upstairs "tower" room with spa and sauna. We were welcomed by a very lovely lady (who speaks English and German) who booked us in and then carried some of our heavy luggage up to the room. Be aware that there are a few flights of stairs up to tower room and this might pose a problem for some elderly people. Room was circular in shape and was very clean and comfortable. Room has good views over the adjacent playing fields and on to the ocean. Aloha is close to Tahunanui beach and with a tavern next door and easy access to Smugglers pub at the back. On-site parking appears to be limited to about 14 spaces, but unsure how many units there are in Aloha. Continental breakfast was fine. Also very nice garden area outside for relaxing. Cleanliness, comfort and service were standouts - would not hesitate to stay here again.
