My wife and I stayed at Sails for two nights in February 2023. We had a very enjoyable stay. Our unit was quite large, clean and very comfortable. The motel is conveniently located to the cbd, only a 10 min walk. There is a restaurant and bar on the way. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our hosts were lovely and full of information about things to do and see. It is across the road from a large stadium where sport and entertainment occur. Might pay to check if any noisy concerts etc are on when booking.

I read them but rarely review anything. , however these rooms were so spacious, modern, nicely appointed & beautiful that I feel its wrong to stay silent.

The overall experience was extraordinary with all the extra help, advice & care from the couple who own/manage it. Their suggestions led to great outings through Gentile Cycle & Kiwi Adventures & SeaShuttle’s coordinated bus pickup to boat to Abel Tasman National Park made for seamless transfers. I was traveling solo so didn’t rent a car to drive & park at Kaiteriteri or Motueka or Collingwood where the boats operators for drops in Able Tasman leave from.

The sheet linens & bedding were extra fine. Everything you could want to cook with was in the nice, new, modern kitchen sideboard area. There was Nespresso machine & pods as well as coffee & a press coffee pot. A/c, windows that open & beautiful shutters on windows as well as blackout curtain in the large living room area. Huge screen TV in both rooms (I didnt watch anything). A really nice big bathroom with a beautiful tiled shower & quality fixtures.
Lots of closets, cabinet space & bench for luggage & floor space for yoga.

Bravo to the property!

My 4 night stay was great.

Room tip: Some road sounds. I did close my windows at night to reduce the sound.

Unfortunately, we only had one night here. The hostess was incredible friendly and our room was very modern and extremely clean. It is about a 10 minute walk into the heart of downtown and a number of restaurants. The rooms are a bit small, but have great furnishings.

A fabulous experience, the quality of the accommodation is excellent – especially the one bed apt we stayed in, which comes with Netflix on a wide TV.

However, it’s the helpfulness and kindness of Cherie which really sets this apart, she was so helpful, providing all sorts of cables and adapters that I needed.

We were sad to leave, it was a great stay.

Highly recommended.

Rooms at Sails were lovely - we had a one bedroom for couple nights then an executive suite. Spotless, roomy and very well equipped. Our hosts were fabulous too, extrememly helpful.
Can't give it five stars because its on a noisy corner and the we found the traffic noise intrusive. Didn't disturb our sleep as the traffic dies down overnight but gets going around 7am. So if you are noise senstive this is not the hotel for you. Otherwise no hesitation.

Room tip: Dont stay in Room 103 if you are noise sensitive - its right on the corner and gets noise from both roads.

We booked a one bedroom unit at Sails on a road trip around NZ, and were so pleased we did. Gorgeous, well appointed modern unit with big plush lounge/ kitchen, beautiful separate bedroom and a luxurious bathroom. The manager was a delight, welcoming us and taking great pride in her lovely facilities. A substantial continental breakfast was reasonably priced. We only wished we could have stayed longer! Highly recommended.
