We stayed in the Newby Suite the other rooms looked as good. The room was very clean and tidy and the bed was good too. You also had access to the comfortable lounge which has everything, dvd books games, ipad, you name it it is there even free port and sherry.
The breakfasts were "to die for" a big spread to chose from and then they offer you a range of hot food which they cook to order. It was all fab.
The owners Wayne and Val were very helpful and welcoming which was a great help.

Room Tip: The loft room seemed to have a great view from the balcony.

We stayed for two nights at Shelbourne Villa. Wayne greeted us at the door of his and Val's beautiful home. We had dinner reservations so he provided us with a map to orient ourselves with and then helped carry our bags to our room. Our room was very spacious, had a very nice sitting area with books on the area, balcony bedroom and bathroom. Bathroom had both a shower and cast iron bathtub. Two large closets give travelers more space than they'll need. The Villa itself is only a 5 -7 minute walk from town so you won't need a car or taxi to get to dinner. Breakfasts were delicious (Val is a great cook) and the dinning room was a beautiful spot to start the day and meed fellow travelers.

Room Tip: Loft room is spacious, is quiet and has great views.

The suite had a private entrance with a comfortable sitting room, bedroom, bathroom and small kitchenette. It was in a historic home with charming decoration and local reading material. The breakfast was very good including a hot entree. The service was excellent. The house was in a quite location very close to the center of town.

Everything was impressive about this quaint B&B from the moment Wayne opened the door, entering the room -more like a suite - and meeting the other guests at breakfast each morning. It is in a quiet street but only 5 minutes walk to some of the best eating and shopping in Nelson. The villa has four rooms, each with its own character. Parking and wifi was a welcome bonus. Breakfast was nicely done each morning with continental plus a surprise cooked item that changed daily. Look forward to coming back

Room Tip: The two rooms on the Northern side offered extra warmth on cooler days. The downstairs rooms were easier with the bags.
