From the centre of New Zealand to his fabulous beaches an amazing place to visit or use as a base if you are travelling to South Island. The city itself has a cathedral and many public parks . The shops are varied with many selling original art which can also be found at the weekend farmers market

The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Nelson. Despite being quiet at the time, the hotel was well presented clean and comfortable. My go to for the next trip to Nelson.

The hotel is clearly from the 70s or 80s, and retains that feel. But, it does so in a classy way, it’s a bit of a step back to the past, but it feels like a novelty being there.

We stayed in over 20 hotels / guest houses / self catering places on our trip to NZ and this hotel rated in the top 3 during our time there. Centrally located with easy access to plenty of eating places and points of interest. Our room was comfortably furnished and clean. All the staff were very friendly and helpful with valet parking available. The breakfasts were excellent, we arrived at breakfast quite late on our second morning but nothing was too much trouble.

Room tip: Ask for a higher floor for good views and less road noise.

Located in the town it is very convenient. We stayed some 5 days to explore the region.
We had a suite with generous size rooms and a kitchenette. There is parking.
Very comfortable and clean. The fittings and decor are a bit dated.
There were unusual Restaurant arrangements with the main dining room closed on certain nights with the alternative a specialist Japanese restaurant ( not everyone’s choice). In addition we were unable to get a table in the main restaurant on one evening at an acceptable time due to a group who arrived by coach.
The bar did not open until mid afternoon.
However, there are several very good restaurants within easy walking distance.
