Stayed for 7 days at this wonderful motel. The unit was great. Spotlessly clean, had everything we needed, stove, microwave and sufficient cutlery etc. Central location to city for shopping and resturants. The owners are fantastic. Made us feel very welcome and best we have ever had at a motel. Would definately go back if ever in Nelson. Highly recommended. AAA+

Taking safety measures
The convenience of being within easy walking distance of the CBD, and immediately opposite Trafalgar Park are drawcards for this motel. Rooms are well back from the street and quiet (in our experience). The rooms are definitely spacious and being able to close the bedroom off from the lounge area is helpful if one is working or watching TV while another sleeps. A bit run down and needing TLC in some aspects, but clean and tidy. Air-conditioned rooms. Pool available. Shower looked new but had low (soft) pressure only.

We were thoroughly happy with our stay. Fabulous location and immaculately clean motel rooms with everything you need in a motel. The owners are lovely and most obliging and we loved the lovely linen and cotton waffle blankets.

Had a great time at Kings Gate in between adventures in the region. Super location - can walk to supermarkets, shops, cinema and restaurants, and also the information centre. Hosts kindly looked after our bags while we were out and about on overnight adventures- riding or walking, even keeping some of our food that we had left behind in their fridge for our return! A lovely gesture. Laundry on site made a big difference and kitchens are well appointed. Recommend this family hotel.
Stayed in a two bedroom unit with our two school age children. Comfortable and tidy unit. The swimming pool on site was a big bonus. Hosts were friendly and welcoming. Location awesome - walking distance from everything.
