Room was ok..... clean. No room service for our 2 night stay. Staff friendly. We left behind a set of headphones. They must have been found during a room service but despite several phone calls we have not had them returned. Our fault I know but it would have been nice for them to make an effort to get them back. Walls are thin and we had very noisy neighbors. Arghhhhhh.

I haved stayed in this hotel before when I have had an early flight due to its close proximity to the airport and the shuttle bus service included in the price. As always, the room was very clean and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable with nice quality sheets and comfortable mattress and pillows. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Sadly we were there when Auckland was flooded.
The Kiwi Hotel was also flooded.
Our room was a passage for transporting water from a leaking roof
to the toilet until it became completely unmanageable.
The entire downstairs area was flooded as well, including the restaurant.
The staff were unable to do anything.
The guests there that night were at a loss to move to another hotel as the
accommodation was hard to get because there was an Elton John farewell
concert on in town too….which was also cancelled.
We were disappointed that some consideration wasn’t given to our fee but
figured “that’s life”.
We had stayed there before and it was OK, would we stay there again……hmmm
I guess it will a long time before this place is habitable.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I sympathise with the extraordinary circumstances our staff and our guests like yourself went through on that day. However after a few months of renovations we are happy to announce we are back up and running with newly refurbished rooms and lounge and we certainly hope to welcome returning guests like you again in the near future.
Previously I left a good review but after our experience I'll never stay here again. Management never let anybody know they were closed due to flooding. We arrived with other tired travelers at 9.30pm to find the place shut with no signs of life. No accommodation available anywhere else due to flooding so we had to sleep on the floor of the airport for the night. It was a miserable night and what they did is unforgiveable. It's been 2 weeks and still no communication from them at all. We could have easily made other arrangements before we got on the plane, which made us furious about the whole situation. BAD FORM!

Unfortunately after taking too much structural damage due to the floods, we were unable to contact guests as the building had been cordoned off for Health and Safety reasons. We arrived from a flight at 9.30pm to find the motel closed with nobody around! Absolutely terrible service. All it would have taken was a text, email or phone call to let us know they’d been flooded and we could have stayed put. We walked to the Airport Gateway Motel up the road and even though they were fully booked they gave us complimentary beers to calm our nerves and the lovely young lass who worked there gave us a ride back to the airport in her own car when she finished work. What a legend. We had to sleep on the floor of the airport overnight as there was no accommodation available anywhere. It was an awful night and I’m so angry they didn’t let us know they had closed. Inexcusable. We will never stay there.
