I stayed in the room at the end - 338 I think. I checked in in the evening. The room looks tidy and neat. The bathroom looks fine, the AC works fine, though a bit noisy. When I pulled back the sheets there was blood (see pic) on the sheets (a possible sign of bedbugs). When I moved the kettle, two young cockroaches scurried across the counter. After that, needless to say, I DID NOT HAVE A RESTFUL NIGHT! The fridge smells and the baseboards (see pic) look terrible (all I could think about was cockroach waste at this point). When I moved a cup this morning, I saw a bigger cockroach and killed it (see pic).

The hotelier was really great and extremely helpful. The room was spacious and the bathroom was superb. The shower was excellent and very refreshing. The bed was really comfortable. The airport shuttle was a Godsend, even though it was only up until midnight.

Our flight from Sydney was delayed causing us to miss our connecting domestic flight and having to stay in Auckland overnight. Unfortunately, if this happens to you at Auckland Airport (and probably at any airport in NZ), you're on your own in finding accommodation. After phoning around numerous hotels, most with an answer phone or asking to be emailed with details, we were so pleased that the Airport Manor Inn answered our call and had a vacant room. Furthermore, they had a a very welcome shuttle service which picked us up and took us back to the airport early the next morning. We were so grateful to be accommodated at the last minute.
